I'm starting to dislike my CA with a passion. Is there any reason that I need to kiss up to him, or can I be straight w/ him when he's doing his job poorly?

I purchased my car from Prestige BMW and dealt with the internet manager, Bill Greene. I was pleasantly suprised because he was very nice, didn't give me any run-around, and responded quickly to email. But once we agreed on a price, he said that another CA would be available to help me through the rest of the process. Well the new CA absolutely sucks. He is unprofessional, has an attitude, and he refuses use email or answer his phone. I've already had to fax some things to BMW ED because they said my CA wasn't responding to their calls. :tsk:

If I have one more run in with my CA I will probaby tell the internet manager that I would rather work directly with him because the CA just sucks. Is there any reason I shouldn't do this? Should I care if the CA gets pissed at me? can he sabotage the order or anything?

Also, when it comes time to give an evaluation, will there be a way to specify that Bill was great, but the CA doesn't deserve to keep his job?

Call the dealership general manager and express your dissatisfaction with this individual.

1. If you are not being treated professionally, never hesitate to change who you do business with-that includes any business dealing in your life.

2. If this person is treating you poorly, you won't be the first or the last they do this to. You will be doing the GM a favor by reporting your experiences to him.

I suspect the GM will welcome your report should you address them courteously. I would request that the GM place you with a verteran sales person that will give you the white glove treatment.

If you don't receive a warm welcome and corrective action from the GM, I think I would cancel the deal and take my business elsewhere.

So, you didn't give him a tip, did ya?

For some reason I was thinking of doing this after the sale was completed rather than now. It just seems rather awkward to switch in the middle, and then have to see that guy when I go to the dealership. Plus, I'm paranoid about making an enemy on the inside.

I might give him one more chance, but if he blows it I'll take say something. :dunno:

Not sure if this is sarcasm or not. :dunno:

He's probably not particularly thrilled with me because I'm guessing he's getting a low commission on me. 1) all of the deal negotiation was with the manager, and 2) I got a relatively small margin over invoice, for a bmw anyway.

One thing I forgot to mention though... I can't really walk on this deal because I already have tickets and a vacation planned around the ED date. Unless I could transfer my car (which is already being built) to another dealer, I'm stuck with them.

I just need to stick with Bill. I guess my main concern was whether I should be afraid of becoming enimies with this guy. I guess it's a silly thing to worry about.

I understand your concern over not making enemies, but don't let this looser of a CA intimidate you. They really have very limited influence at the dealer anyway.

Regardless of the size of the deal or the commission earned by the sales person, you should be treated to the same standard that the dealer wants every customer treated.

Stand up and be heard and quit fretting about making enemies. Do the right thing and call the GM.
