I no longer own an M Roadster- and these pesky things are taking up space.
Only a few thousand miles on them- so they just need a little polish to look like new again!
(any discoloration on the exhaust tips is only from dust)
They were only removed to install an Eisenmann system.

These cost around $1700 from a dealer, but I will accept any reasonable offer; asking $600.

Good luck, I considered myself lucky to get $200.00 for a set that was only used one (1) month.

Yours are black? Mine (S52) is polished chrome front to back of the mufflers. Interesting.

they're OEM as far as I know. They look identical but they're chrome. I always thought they were pretty nice looking... except for the overspray from freakin' Carmax...

on a side note: any advice on how to get it off without accidentally stripping my bumper 4 inches away?

The stock exhaust on a 98 is black with chrome tips, not all chrome. You must have aftermarket cans.

I'll have to take pics. I've noticed a few things that are different in this one than other 98's. I wonder if it's not an earlier '98.

For example: no traction control. Nor any evidence that it was ever there. The electric top switch is stock in the front of the council. There have been others but I can't come up with them right off the top of my head.

Either this car has been subtly modified in several ways or it's different from other '98's. I know that it has some modifications: headers, Dinan tune. But nothing else from the looks of it. In fact, the wiring inside the center council doesn't look like it was tampered with. No splices.

I moved the top switch of my 01 to the same location (from the rear of the console without cutting/splicing any wires).

The 98s did not have ASC (traction control) and some did not have side airbags either. Many subtle differences between years.

My roadster is a 6/98 build. No traction control and the top switch is located in the front console. I think only the non-M's had the top switch at the rear of the console. (Edit: Looking at Randy's post, maybe that's not the case. :))

If you have aftermarket headers installed, it's almost a sure bet that you don't have the factory cans.
