Timing belt change 87 528e

When should the timing belt be changed on a 87 528e? I bought mine last month with 174k miles on her but the seller had no idea when it was last changed. Is there a web site with a maintenance schedule for this model?

it should be changed every 60,000 miles or every three years, whichever comes first. If the PO (Previous Owner) has no record of it do it NOW! This is an interference engine and if it breaks it will be really bad news. Parts should be relatively cheap (belt, tensioner ad water pump since you are already there) around $100. Expect to pay around $250 to $300 to get it done by a shop.
