HELP?! This morning I received production # for the Black Shappire 330i zhp I ordered last week:). A few hours later, I plugged the number into the BMWNA website and found an order for a Titanium Silver 325xi

After vomiting, I called my sales rep, who is gone for the weekend :banghead:. What do I do now? Is this a common problem or did I pay forty G's for a Silver 325?

I see this is going to be a great weekend:drink:

First of all, calm down.

-You should have your deal in writing. If the deal is $40k for a Black 330i ZHP, they won't try and give you a Silver 325xi.

-Also, BMW's Owner's Circle/Order Tracking isn't known for being totally accurate. It could just be a glitch in the system.

If you call the dealer, any of the sales managers should be able to help you out and pull up a DCS inquiry for you to verify your order number. If your salesperson is out, ask for the Sales Manager/General Sales Manager and ask him to run it for you.

If all else fails, stay calm and wait until Monday morning. A few days won't change anything.

Thanks guys!! I never thought to talk to the SM/GM

The Sales Manager said the order info is correct there and it must an error in the system at BMWNA. Just give it a few days to correct.

I guess all reason can be lost in love, war and buying cars.

Or call BMWNA customer service and have them verify the order. They screwed up my order and left a few things off. They had to build me a new car, but luckily I had called after I got my production number to verify everything.

My X5 order was screwed up as well (salesman's fault). He calls me and says that my car is ready, I go to the dealer, all excited, and guess what...wrong color, wrong options, etc. Turns out that when the salesman was ordering my X, he was trying to modify an existing order and his request was denied by BMWNA because it was too late. The guy never actually bothered to follow up and make sure that the order change went through :tsk: In the end, I had to wait another 2 month for the new car to be built. Don't make the same mistake I did. Call BMWNA and make sure you've got the right car. If not, sort it out with the dealer ASAP.

That's interesting b/c my CA or I transposed a couple of digits when she was giving me my prod. number. Anyway, when I originally put it in I think it said: Titanium Silver 325xi.

Wonder if that is some sort of default when the number is wrong/bad. :dunno:

Anyway, I would be stressing a little also.

I think they may have just re-configured an allocation of theirs and it takes a while for the OC site to catch up to the latest configuration. When mine was first ordered, this happened to me too.

Same sort of thing happened to me. :( But, not to worry. Just call BMW NA. The 800 number is in Owner's Circle. They can verify exactly what has been ordered. If something is missing, then call the dealership and talk with the sales manager (since your salesman is out of town). He'll straigten it all out. I ordered a Ti Silver ZHP with Alcantara and a couple other options. When I checked Owner's Circle after getting my production number it showed a Imola Red ZHP with black leather and the other options I ordered. I reacted like you did (minus the : puke: ). Called my salesman immediately and he assured me that everything was ordered as I wanted it, but then he noticed that he had me down for leather. Well, he made the appropriate changes. The next day Owner's Circle reflected the correct paint color. Within a week it reflected the Alcantara (which shows as black cloth). BMW NA is just a little slow in updating Owner's Circle.

Thanks to all who replied.

My salesman called me at home tonight. He explained his regional sales manager had to trade a production spot with another dealer and that spot had been previously reserved for a Titanium Silver car (should have read as a 325c). I took production priority because mine was a #1 (ordered car) over the other dealer #4 (lot car). The change is confirmed by BMW AG but just has not caught up to BMW NA. Should be right in a few days:) .

This does make sense (I guess). Hope this helps someone else down the line.

I swear it was easier waiting for the birth of kids, then waiting for this car!

Same experience here. The last day of February I ordered a 530iA and received my order number right away. Immediately I created an Owner's Circle account and noticed it had the wrong color and options. As it turns out, it was a dealer allocation that just needed to be altered. Sure enough, within a week it was all corrected on the website.

The only thing that Owner's Circle never did show was the Steptronic. I called the dealer and they verified it was clearly on the order. We took delivery on April 17th and the car was perfect. Woo-hoo! :D

Now, if you can just survive "The Wait".

Wouldn't be great to order a 325i, enter the production number, and receive an M3. Nice dream, huh?
