Palbay,
Do you know if BMW is working on the turbo lag that continues to be reported for the 50i? I am planning to order as soon as my dealer receives a production slot but the lag issue is concerning me. I am hoping this will be corrected before final production.

Palbay,
Do you know if BMW is working on the turbo lag that continues to be reported for the 50i? I am planning to order as soon as my dealer receives a production slot but the lag issue is concerning me. I am hoping this will be corrected before final production. I've not driven the TTV8 X6 so I can't really speak from direct experience. However, a person that I know that works at the Plant, told me yesterday that the plant was starting to receive bulk shipments of the TTV8 engine, today actually, in anticipation of bumping up V8 X6 production. That would make me believe that at least BMW feels the problem has been fixed. But from the "butt o meter" perspective, some people feel no turbo lag when they drive a turbo car,and some people can detect the slightest turbo lag, even driving the same car. With no TTV8 X6's floating around to drive now,it's a tough call on what to do.Maybe you can cut a deal w/ the dealer to keep your order for resale,if you don't like the lag.I hope that helps.Thanks. Is it true that the 3.5i is a MY2008, but the 5.0i is not going to be introduced until MY2009? That's what I was told.

Is it true that the 3.5i is a MY2008, but the 5.0i is not going to be introduced until MY2009? That's what I was told. The 35i is being labeled a 2008 model,My contact tells me the 50i will be launched in May 2008.Now,I think my contact is talking about the launch of production in the plant. If the 50i is like the 35i,there will be a couple of months of build time to build up a little inventory to start shipping out to dealers. That would make a little more sense regarding calling the 50i an 09 model. But,these car manufactures can call it just about anything they want to get it to fit into their marketing plan.I wish I could provide more info, but that's all I've got right now. Thanks! PalBay
