Pause Ipod Playback

The car's documentation nor searching here revealed how to pause playback using the Ipod via Idrive. Anyone have this basic feature figured out?

Hmm I'll give that a try. I know that mutes the sound but didn't check to see if the track was paused.

I find it odd to say the least that this isn't documented in the manual.

Don't feel dumb about asking this question, I think the feature is un-intuitive. in my e46, hitting the volume knob would essentially turn the radio off. In the e92, the display stays on, and an "mute" icon comes on. Traditionally, "MUTE" doesn't pause, it simply turns off the sound.

But yes, hitting the volume knob and "muting" it will pause during USB/Ipod and CD playback.
