How do they rate oil weights.. I mean, what do the #ís correspond to in the designation, are these like systolic and diastolic numbers or something? Here is my point, reading the 330Ci owners manual it says to use 5w-30 but the temp spread goes way below freezing, like thatís gunna happen here. I also know that if the weight is too heavy the car wont qualify for ULEV so they donít tell you to use that even though itís probably better on the engineÖ that is the engine wonít wear as fast though it probably would loose a little power due to having to move the oil around? My logic is??? I need to understand this. Please help or post a link? TIA
