I like it best in Alpine white or the red. One sexy vehicle. It is getting more attention and advertising than the new M3 which looks like a regular 3 series and is lost in the sea of Hondas.

Personally I like it, but I'm not sure why anyone would buy it over the X5. Exclusivity? Otherwise the X5 drives just as well and is more practical. Hmm...

Personally I like it, but I'm not sure why anyone would buy it over the X5. Exclusivity? Otherwise the X5 drives just as well and is more practical. Hmm... The comparison of the X6 to the X5 is not the question. They are very different vehicles aimed at completely different submarkets.I passed on an X5 because I don't need the utility or practicality of an X5.The X5 looks like a truck...the X6 looks like a Sports Car.I wanted in a vehicle...some utility, sporty looks, increased ride height( I occasionally have the need to ride out on real estate sites) and very sporty handling. The X6 has all the items I am looking for in a vehicle.I rarely have more than 3 people in my car at any particular time. The X6 has DPC and the X5 does not.DPC makes a huge difference in the handling of the X6 over the X5.The look of the X6 and it's driving performance will be the two most important items to potential X6 customers.I doubt very seriously the X6 will even ding X5 sales.X6 buyers have for the most part eliminated the X5 from serious consideration and would probably leave the Brand were it not for the X6.Thanks.PalBay

Hey PalBay, it looks like i'm going to have to eat my own words...I've just spent the past 10 mins trying to google where I found that info - and i can't! I remember it was on a BMW message board, but don't remember which one. Sorry for the bad info - will let you know if i do get confirmation.
Cheers,
Brock

No problem at all.The only reason that I asked, is that some engineers that I know at the BMW Plant told me it would be 3 years or so before any other BMW vehicle would receive DPC.BMW wanted DPC to be the "signature" item on the X6.DPC is also suppose to be the primary feature to "differentiate" the X6 from the X5.Thanks. Hey Palbay, well I'm sure your engineer friends would have more of an idea than the random speculators on the internets. Ah well, looks like i won't hold my breath for that diesel X3 with DPC!

Brock the rear track of the x6 is 2.5 inches wider. My guess is, to help accomdate DPC gears and motors. They would have to change the rear wheel arches etc. Maybe when they do a mid cycle restyle they could add DPC. Cheap

Hey cheap, thanks for the explanation. I guess the X6 will indeed have the exclusive on this technology, at least until a mid-cycle refresh.
