View Full Version : Returning a lease with a non OEM windshield

Anybody was ACTUALLY forced to pay because the replacement windshield was not OEM? The inspector wrote it in the notes and he mentioned that I could be charged for this.

I just want to hear from real experiences, not opinions.

Mine has no defaults and was installed 2 years ago. I then got a quote from my dealer but the lead time was 3 days and the price was very similar; I think that the dealer would have used somebody local anyway.

Since I have the right to use a different brand of tires, I wonder why it would be different for windows.

Can't be more helpful, but I'm just curious why/how you ended up with non-OEM pieces on your leased, warrantied, insured car?

As I mentionned; because BMW couldn't service my car before 3 days.

BTW, it is written Pickington on it... isn't this brand an OEM for BMW anyway?
