27 and 39 Month Lease?

My first lease I did 39 months and it was a much better deal than 36 months as it used the 36 month residual, less per month and in the end only cost a few hundred extra for 3 months longer.

Is this always possible and I'm most interested in 27 month

I heard that a 36monthresidual is only used on 39month leases in special cases as a form of incentive (aka in your case for the X3s).

This is usually not universal for all bmw models, when I inquired in my case it turned out a 39 month 335xi coupe lease was actually about $20 more expensive a month than my 36 month lease due to a significantly lower residual for the 39month.
