My dealer is telling me that my mobile (Motorola KRZR K1M - Verizon) is causing my TCU to malfunction. I think that this is a load of BS. Please respond if you are using this phone - and if you have the 6FL option.

I used that phone for a few months in my car (Sprint Version) but got rid of the phone for a blackberry. The blackberry is way more compatible, but I didn't have problems with 6FL. The only issue I had was answering calls without touching the phone - I would have to physically press the answer button on the phone, as it wouldn't pop up on the radio display screen to anwser there, nor could I get it from the steering wheel.

Bluetooth worked nonetheless.

I had that exact phone from Verizon for 1 year with my 2007 328i Conv. (including the iPod connector) and no problems at all. It did everything I expected without needing to touch it once I got in the car. The only thing it did not do was identify which phone number was home, work, etc. In fact I recently got a Blackberry Pearl from Verizon and wanted to make sure it worked as well as my KRZR. It does and includes the ***8216;work***8217; ***8216;home***8217; designation now.

Ask your dealer why he/she thinks this is an issue.

I have the exact same phone with exact same problem, the dealer told me my phone is not certified by BMW. So I took the car to another dealer and they changed a ECU for me. No problem since then.

I have a similar problem with my Motorola ROKR Z6m phone. I can pair the phone easily and display all the numbers in my phone book, but I cannot make or receive calls. I can dial a number from the steering console, but I have to swithc the audio back to the phone to hear anything. If anyone has any suggestions please HELP!!! This is very frustrating.

I've been successfully pairing my VzW KRZR ever since I got it.
