I have been reading numerous threads on::
1. The Dinan tune - Will BMW really release one of their own? I REALLY want to increase the performance of this car, but don't want to do so without the assurance of more than just 4 years of reliability. I am sure it can handle it, but if BMW sticks their name on it, its bound to be at least worthy, no? I want to do the Dinan, and have the stock oil cooler to boot, but haven't heard any more wind on the BMW branded performance mod?
2. BMS (the JB2 makers)'s air intake - Seems like a really nice one. I like the whooshing sound it makes, but it sure does look out of place with a detached stock hose hanging there. Only 150ish and not bad to install. Is it recommended though?
3. Borla exhaust - I saw this in a recent thread. Sounds nice, but no one really attests to it being a great upgrade. Is it?
4. Rims - EVENTUALLY, I would like to replace those lovely stock sports 18's. Deep dish silver maybe? I have no idea where to even start with something that looks tasteful and aggressive without drawing too unnecessary attention.
And of course the issue of warranty. :( Do any of these upgrades void /andor/ threaten warranty? Seriously though, intake won't cause my dealer to go into knots will it? Or the exhaust. Hell, I can't put a BB in my vac tube, would a whole replacement send me packing when its time to own up some warranty work?
Ahhhh...owning this car has made me a happy boy. Nothing says, you did well like having a cushy leather seat after a hard day.
