Hello everyone! This is my first post after reading this board for a few weeks now. I know it is not preferred to discuss old topics, so I have been searching the board high and low for the answer to my question and could not find anything. So if I am hashing old material, please forgive me.

I bought my 335xi coupe back in November 07. I was interested in installing the Dinan software after reading a few positive posts here at bimmerfest. After I had it installed I noticed three very big changes.

The first thing I noticed was the motor and exhaust sound. Deeper, clean...awesome!:D

The second and third things I noticed were***8230;it was slower on the low end and incredibly faster on the high end. As mentioned in previous threads, right about 3500 rpm***8217;s it is a rocket. No doubt about it. I am in love with my car all over again. :D

My concern is the low end, 2500 rpm***8217;s and lower. It just doesn***8217;t seem to have the zip that it had before the reflash. I literally had to move my seat forward to adjust for more pedal with daily driving. This is especially a pain in traffic. Is this common with the reflash?

(It is also worth mentioning that I am getting better a little better gas mileage)

I love that the car is way smoother, but I absolutely abhor the nurtured low end torque. I have been unsuccessfully trying to arrange an appointment to get it updated. I have not seen any review yet, but supposedly the tune is available now. I'd hope there is more tq down low than stock but yet maintain the smooth no jerks behavior with this. Looking out for a review soon. I am trying to see if I can get mine around the 16th. I am sure there will be reviews by then too.

Are updates included, or do i need to shell out another $2k?

Plus labor, typically, no?

Plus labor, typically, no?That was my next question.

Even if labor cost you, how bad could it be? Even at dealer-inflated $100/hour rates...what's the procedure?
1. open hood
2. open DME box
3. plug in connector
4. click mouse button on computer screen
5. wait 3 minutes
6. unplug connector
7. close DME box
8. close hood

What, 15 minutes?

One hour minimum is typical.

One hour minimum is typical.

Can't forget about those Union Inspired "Rest Times"...:)

Regarding this: my installer just called me to suggest I have the "rev. 2" of the Dinan flash installed. He said it had to do with 50-state emissions compliance, not only torque curve. They will not charge me for labor.

I plan to have it done tomorrow. I'll post about it on BF after I do.

Snaxster, be sure to give us as detailed a before and after as you can. Any chance you can do a 0-60 run before the change, and again afterwards? I want to see numbers!

Sorry, DSXM; I'm not a numbers guy in things automotive. :) But I have a good sense of how the rev. 1 behaves in my car, so differences in the rev. 2 should be immediately obvious. I will use all my powers of prosaic and poetic description to document them. :D
