To each their own I guess. But you couldn't pay me enough to have the word BOY on my license plate.
Maybe you just photo chopped it, hopefully...

Glad you put a plate on the front too. Keeps the Chippies away! How do you like that very nice looking Volvo anyway?

well, had a kept the X3 it would have KILLED ME at some point with the bad transmission, so why not play it safe.

Thanks UncleJ.. at least someone around here has some respect for his fellow 'festers. While is doesn't drive like a Bimmer, it's superior to any of the other BMWs I have owned. More comfortalbe, etc and I feel like I got my money's worth, something I never felt in a BMW.

Flame my all you want, I don't care, because I don't have to deal with the a-holes at my dealer or worry every time I drove the 07 if today was the day I was going to get plowed into because the thing wouldn't move.

:dunno:... just seems to say more about you than making a statement against BMW... I mean - anyone who sees it on the freeway is simply gonna think you prefer a Volvo over BMW.

Oh wait - you do.

I have to agree. If you don't like the brand then more power to ya. But why advertise it like that? I get the feeling you're one of those people that start websites to talk trash about celebrities simply because you don't like them, like IhateRachelRay.com or something. I guess it's just me but I go by the saying "If you don't have anything good to day then don't say anything."

With that being said....I'm a big fan of the S60 and your ride looks sweeet! Congrats.

no, not entirely true. If there was a BMW right now that I thought was as reliable, good looking and well designed as the old E39, I would have bought it. I hate the new styling, and while the X3 was an amalgmation of old and new, it at least had enough old inside to make me like it. I just don't like the new direction they have taken, so why buy something I don't like. Will the S60 ever excite me like the X or the 528 or the 318I had? No. Obviously not, but it's what worked best for me right now. I didn't want another car without a warranty given ALL the crap I had to go through with the TWO X3s I had.. which clearly indicates I was trying to make it work. But why be burned THREE times?

Point taken. I know several people that do not care for the new styling BMW has gone with... yet it has won over new fans that like it more.

BTW - I'm not knocking your S60 - I think they are nice looking cars. However, I do believe all new cars are pushing the "technological envelope" a bit too fast and the result is quirks and problems that are difficult to identify & resolve.

dude, i've been here a lot longer and have many more posts than you do, so I didn't just come to this forum.
and it's funny, the people that were the jerks before are the ones that still are.

You claim "we" are the jerks, yet you are the one, along with others, that continually utilize this board, a BMW enthusiast forum, to bash BMW. Even after you get rid of your BMW, you feel the need to come here and flame the board with your anti-BMW b.s.

The hundreds of posts, derailing of threads, and slamming of the X3 transmission seriously looks like a childish temper tantrum. You sold it and bought a volvo... good for you.

Lastly, you may have been here longer, you may have more posts than me and others, but none of that excuses your juvinile behavior.

Like I said before. When you flame bait... expect to get flamed.

My wife & I have been looking at the S60 also - willow green - this past weekend we test drove the Malibu, Acura TL, Honda EX-L, & the S60 - liked the Volvo the best of those - trim lines, comfortable seats, & compact but elegant cockpit - we're approaching retirement and want 2 cars that will be comfortable for intermediate as well as longer trips - we've already ordered the X3 with MT.

We'll probably also price out and drive the Lexus ES and Mercedes C-class sedan but we really enjoyed the Volvo and will probably go that route.

Just because I do not have one anymore and do not like the current line up doesn't mean I don't have a space in my heart for BMWs, and it doesn't mean I can't offer good thoughts and advice to others when it comes to the cars. Yes, I bitched about the transmission, rightfully so-- I mean, they wouldn't have taken it back if there WASN'T a real problem.

I am a BMW enthusiasts, have been since I first sat behind the wheel of my 71 2002, that was an awesome car! So were all the other cars I had, it was the Xs that did the current brand in for me.

It's a forum, where both good and bad can be talked about.. and the bad should be covered to help others make decisions in what they buy, or help when they have the same problems... otherwise, if all we posted was the good, we might as well send this entire .com over to Kim Jong iL to approve all posts first.

What other cars did you consider before getting the Volvo ? Is it an '08 ??

actualli the volvos are not a bad at all, and they did a good job in the past 5-8 years with improving the interior etc.....i still remember when they first came out with the 850 T5-R....which was beating both the 328i sport and the C280sport on the straight (i eventually did pick the C280 at the end...just caz i wanna RWD)

i once looked at the S60 R which is a pretty hot car...(besides the tranny was a bit rubbery IMO)

What other cars did you consider before getting the Volvo ? Is it an '08 ??

I looked at:
an 03 530i sport -- too close to warranty running out
an 08 RDX/MDX
Subaru Tribecca
an 08 328 wagon, but it had the SAME issues the X ddi
an 08 SAAB 9-3 Aero
an 08 Volvo XC90
and even went so far as the Dodge Charger SRT

in the end, the deal I got on the Volvo was too good: last 07 on the lot and $10,000 off sticker, with the money I SAVED, I was able to buy up my 401k. But better year, the central dash board faces the driver just like BMWs used too..sad they stopped it, and the seats were miles ahead in terms of comfort, the stereo blows away ANYThing BMW puts out at all and it's better gas mileage.

that was more important to me than having the blue and white propellor etched into my forehead after the trans downshifted and threw me into the steering wheel, or worse, my dog out the front window.
