Roll Bar Sockets

Hi, I am considering buying some roll bars for my Z3 (1998) when I noticed that one of the sockets is large and one is tiny, this is duplicated on both sides.

Will I need to change the smaller socket for a bigger one and i so how do i do it.

The factory rollbars have differant size legs, larger outboard and smaller inboard.
