BMW Bluetooth - slow contact list transfer

Hi all,

First post - please be kind!!

Yesterday I took delivery of my '06 X3 and so far I'm loving it.

The question I have is regarding the bluetooth prep. I have a SE K850i phone and I got it and the car to pair flawlessly. Handsfree etc all works a treat but what I'm finding is that it's taking ages to sync my contacts list to the car. It looks also like it's doing a full sync every time I start the car so of course the reality is I can't view and call from the address book for about half an hour everytime I drive!!

Is this normal or is the car supposed to retain the contacts list in memory and only sync changes? I have just under 100 numbers in my phone.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Just got a new phone to replace my old one and sync'd it to my 05. The first sync usually takes a while but after that, it just picks up changes. You may not have not have given it enough time to do the original transfer and it is starting over again. If that is not the case, take it back to the dealer.
