Hi all,

This is my first post here, so I'd like say hello and ask you a little question:

I bought my X3 last week with original bluetooth connection. The problem is that it doesn't work with my iPhone 8gb. The car was maked last june 2007

Does anyone solve this problem before? What shall I do?

Thanks in advance!

get a real phone instead.... ? Or maybe you need to register your X3 with iTunes?????
Or maybe ask for an audience with His Eminence, General Jobs, and ask him why in an open standards era he goes all Microsoft on his loyal subjects...

Thats real helpful...

It may be easiest just to take it back to the dealer and have them do it. You should have a pairing code. Here is some info from BMW

Hope that helps.

I have an '08 X3 and we have two Iphones and all work flawlessly together. I did have to have the code from the card in my glovebox, but after that, there was no issue. I have seen a few posts about this regarding general BMW's on the apple support website, but this may be something to have checked at the dealer.

Does the X3's bluetooth officially support the iPhone?
I know for my 2007 X3 BMW doesn't list my Treo as a supported phone, and while it worked fine for a long time it recently started having issues and the dealer won't do anything about it because it's not an officially supported model.

Fair enough, but still disappointing.

I have an iPhone and a 2006 BMW X3. They pair without issue. The iPhone also paired with my 2006 330cic back in the day, again without issue. So, yes, it can be done. Just follow the instructions carefully and have the 4-digit code off the bluetooth box in the trunk ready to type into the phone.
It then takes a few minutes to synch the phone's directory into the car. After that you should be good to go.

Good luck!

yes, the X3's bluetooth is officially supposed to work with the iphone, depending on the X3's production date. the official documentation is here: http://www.wireless4bmw.com/info/CingularATT_Apple_iPhone_03.21.08.pdf

however, it's not completely definitive - my '06 X3 has a build date in february '06 but my iphone works perfectly with it...

I bought a 2008 X3 in January and it pairs just fine with my iPhone. All you need is the code that came with your owner's manual to select the right code. If you have problems with the actual operation of the hands free and the iPhone, turn off the WiFi on the iPhone. I have to do that with my 2005 530i.
