Dealer just told me that:
1. rev problems were a result of a throttle monitor that they can fix (I think ack330 had the same problems). They said it was unrelated to the low oil problem.
2. They still don't know why the car is going through oil so fast. Said they would change oil not just top it up.
I told them that I would not pick it up. It is a new car with 6000kms on it and has been in 3 times for this. I am not risking another breakdown.

They haven't gotten back to me yet. I have a loaner for now.

Your car is allowed to use 1 quart per 1000 miles. This is especially true during break in.

I don't care if a quart every 1,000 miles is allowed I wouldn't want my 40,000 dollar car going through that much oil. Many people say this is within specs, but if it was their BMW losing oil at that rate they more than likely would be freaking.
