Now that I have a nice car, what do your folks think I should get first for a new owner, steel gray metl. 02-330ci with all option but no NAV.system though. Give some ideas? nothing to crazy like super chargers or anything.

Do some research on the Detailing Forum and get some good materials to properly care for the car :)

Congratulations, Havoc!

I am no expert on modifications; I only got my first Bimmer in December, 2002. To be truthful, what I'd say to you is: Enjoy yourself first - get through the "break-in" period, and then think about modifications.

Just reading the postings, seems like the usual mods are: short shift kits, cold-air intakes, rims/tires and clears.

Don't take your car to a mechanical car wash - if you live in an area with water restrictions, find a do-it-yourself place, or a hand-wash car wash. I never washed a car myself before I got my Bimmer, and after getting over my fears, I find that I enjoy it very much and it's very relaxing and satisfying.

Scottn2retro (hi!) is right - there's a lot of very good tips on detailing and washing on the Detailing Forum.

Long may you enjoy your new car!

Upgrade the driver, first. Join BMW CCA and go to some local driving events. This will:

-- familiarize you with what your car can do, in a safe environment.
-- help you get the most out of your car.
-- provide a performance baseline for future mods.

It's also usually less expensive than any hardware upgrade.

I would say do a driving school but one driving school is like eating one potato chip (or having one beer). Once you do one you will be hooked. It is amazing the difference your first school will make in your confidence and skills. You will realize that your car needs very few modifications and the money can be spent getting it on a track.

My first mods were:

It's snowballing from there... :eeps:

Congrats.

What's wrong with your car that you need to modify it already?

Of course, I'm serious! They're great shoes and I think the style goes well with the car. Hey, I've got 4 pairs of them - cinnamon, beige, navy, and brown. Very comfortable for walking, too!

Toschi makes some of the most comfortable shoes available. They last a long time. The styling is unique. Carbon fiber foot platform is SO comfortable. They use the best materials. I don't know what else. They're just really neat shoes! You should try them. I guess I just really like cool shoes. :dunno:

As for Havoc, how about a hard drive music system in place of the CD changer?
