I just purchased a 2007 530i in the last week. The tires were very noisy so the dealer gave me new rear ones due to the lack of tread, Bridgestone Potneza 245/40 R18. They also did an allignment due to the car pulling to the right. The tread on the front tires are good. It still has a noisy ride and pulls to the right. Is this normal for performance tires?

No, that isn't normal for any tires. If they did a proper alignment the car should drive straight. New tires should be quiet. Therefore, it sounds like the problem might be the front tires even though they look good. Do you know how many miles are on the front tires? You might try to put the new tires on the front (if your tires are all the same size) to see if that eliminates the pulling.
Bring it back to the dealer. If you just bought it from them they should fix it.
Is it a certified pre owned vehicle?

The fronts have 19k on them. They are all the same tires and the car is cpo. There is another post on here about new Dunlop tires being noisy. Thanks.

If your car is a CPO they should have replaced the front tires too. My car was also a CPO and they put four new tires on it as a part of the CPO certification. Are the front tires Dunlop run-flats? If they are you might be able to get them replaced under the service bulletin if they are noisy and show irregular wear and they have less than 20,000 miles.
Good Luck.

"New tires should be quiet".....maybe they "should" be, but the fact is there are noticeable differences in noise depending on the tires. The Bridgestone Potenzas are very noisy tires, more so then most...........

I have never owned any Bridgestone tires. The Michelins, Goodyears, Continentals and Dunlops I have owned were quiet when new. The Continentals and Dunlops would get noisy after 15,000 miles or so.
And, of course, the road surface is also a determining factor in the quietness of the ride.

I agree with the Michelins and Goodyears, I've had good luck in the past with those...coincidentally in the last month I've had two loaner cars and both times the car had the Bridgestone Potenzas...the road noise was so bad I asked the service rep and he confirmed it was typical for those tires.......

It sounds like the tires were improperly rotated, or are just worn. Noise is one of the reasons not to rotate your tires. On a RWD car, the fronts and rears wear fairly evenly.
I smacked a curb in my 325. After the tires were remounted on new rims, they were never quiet again, despite checking the balance and alignment. (They were nice Michelin Pilot Sports, too)
