I just got a 2006 530XIT and live in Colorado. I can't wait to see how it does in the snow. For now, I am lovin the ride! :D

Just for the record, it doesn't have to be an 'xi' to get this benefit. :)

No, but the intelligent all wheel drive does make it handle differently from a 530i or a 535i.

+1 to that.

No argument here on that. Just pointing out that with features like DSC, DTC, and ARS, it's pretty darn stable. :)

I would have not dared drive that fast thru that much deep (3 inches?) in my RWD E46 M3 without fear of spinning.
too solid

totally agree with you there. you can floor the gas as if it was dry weather conditions and still take off the same. it really sticks to the road, its unreal. ive had an 04 wrx sti and 05 yukon denali, both all wheel drive and neither can compare to the 535xi in the rain. its funny you started this thread, because yesterday it was raining and i was thinking the same thing while driving. i turned to my gf and said watch this, hammered the gas to show her how good it is in the rain, but without explaining what i was gunning it for she turned to me, looked at me like i was slow.. and didn't say a word. anyways.. lol the xi's truely are amazing when it comes to rain.

Anyone have any electronics system problems when driving in deep water?

I am on my 2nd xi. 1st a 325 xiT automatic and now a 535 xiT manual. Unbelievable handling in snow, ice, water, and general pavement. I can't get the car to spin out under any conditions. This car just hugs the road in all conditions. Very happy.
