hi new here / problem

right i have recently just bought myself a bmw 316i coupe! problem is the power steering went yesterday and im wondering if it is still possible to drive it for about 200 miles or so, does the running gear get lubricated by the power steering fluid or is it seperate lubrication? thanks

The pumped stopped working, or it spit all the fluid out? If it's just the pump stopped working, it should have fluid in the rack still. Even so, you should limit the time you drive around without the pump because the seals in the rack aren't designed to drive without the assist.

i filled it up and within 5 minutes or less it had all leaked right back out, this is my first car with power steering so im at a loss as what to do

decided not to drive it at all.. probably for the best till its fixed
