So, I just got a hold of 2003 7 series accessories catalog... some new stuff:

1) BlueTooth! The description of the item never mentions the word "bluetooth", but they call it "universal phone adapter" and say that we can use phones from several manufacturers. And the set-up looks like BT set-up I've seen in 3 and 5 series, so I think it's safe to assume that we, 7ers, now officially have BlueTooth.

2) Steering wheel with wood inserts!

3) Video camera for backing up! Show up on iDrive screen.

4) Remote engine/interior heater! Can also be programed through iDrive.

The accessories catalog has no pricing / part numbers, so I can't help with that.

Cheers!

Oh, I've seen it.

I just don't have to put up with it and drive in it.

I still haven't been able to get an answer from my dealer on whether the wood steering wheel still has the "heated wheel" function. I would presume not, but would like a definitive answer.

Have any of you guys heard anything?

Two whole posts to my name. God, that's sad.

Nope, haven't heard anything. And no updates on BlueTooth either, it's still in "the works" :(

What's wrong with two posts? Too much? :p

Nah, just the "thrill" of being a board newbie again. It is nice to see some familiar faces over here though. Looks like it's a bit slower over here, but hey... no Doc Lexus? :)

On topic... I also think the rearview camera thing looks like a cool idea. I remember when the Q45 first had one, I thought that it was the silliest thing. But, when testdriving the new Lex RX, that was one of the things that my wife liked the most. (Thankfully, it wasn't enough of an enticement.)

Yup, quite a bit slower, this board, but... better format and no bs.

Not getting LX is good, but you still went for GX... how could you :p

BMWNA says that Bluetooth will be released in the US market during/following the second quarter, so I wouldn't be surprised if that is what's in that car.

My better half was partial to the GX. Enough said? :)

Actually, the GX is a nice vehicle for what it is intended to be. We do some hauling in our SUVs... antiques, dogs, and the like... and it has great flip up seats and lots of room, without being the overall size of a small city (i.e., Navigator).

And did I mention that my wife liked it?

Apparently whipped,
