Warm enough that wetsuits are optional?

It's 16 here today (low 60's) with patchy clouds and the threat of rain. I'm going to wander over to the botanical gardens in a bit, and tomorrow I'm going to do a bit of exploring.

Yeppers, the water's finally warming up 'round here.

Not to stray off topic, but...

How's the acclimation/enculturation coming along Cliff?

I probably should have hung out at the bar next door last night - they sounded like they were having a helluva party. This is a holiday weekend here - Monday is the Queen's Birthday (observed rather than actual). God save the Queen. I wandered over to the shopping mall this morning for a haircut and to buy a couple of items.

My stuff passed through customs late last week and it'll be delivered Wednesday. That will bring the rest of my lenses and tripods, some computer stuff, and more clothes. I'm starting to settle in a bit more at work - it helped that the big boss came back from bereavement leave this past week.

Price Waterhouse contacted me about income taxes and I'm starting to get hooked up there. I have a meeting with the HR head Tuesday to get going on my visa, and probably to get introduced to a rental agent. I want to do some neighborhood exploring tomorrow - just to get a feel for the vibe in various parts of the city.

This is a picture of former world champion (ex-pat of South Africa) Shaun Tomson that I shot yesterday at Rincon.
