When will finally see all wheel drive on a 750xi, 750xiL and 760xil? I live in the snowy midwest, and will not buy a 7 until we can get AWD. Mercedes has had this for years - how about it, BMW?

Ditto... AWD is yet another excuse for poor driving just like on-road 4x4. If you know how to drive and have the proper tread, you can drive *anything* and I mean *anything* in the snow. If you don't, nothing can save you.

I have personally driven a NUMBER of RWD cars, including a 330i through Kansas snowstorms and never had a loss of control.

Now, if you want AWD for autoxing, racing, or the dragstrip, you won't find an argument from me there.

Don't take my word for it (and I love RRs btw)...

I watched that whole thing waiting for someone to get run over / cars to crash... I was disappointed. :(

I would really appreciate AWD option though.

Does anyone have any info on the future AWD 7 series? So far, nothing but offpoint stupid videos and drivers from the south saying AWD not needed. Come spend a winter in the midwest and you will see the need! Not to mention Mercedes has had AWD option in its flagship for a number of years.

Again - in the midwest and north this would sell well. Anyone with more details as to the model year this will be an option?

I would love to have this option because I have a ski house 1/2 mile away from Hunter Mtn. in Upstate NY. And I usually bring my crappy old fwd Mercury Sable up there so incase i do lose control, I'm not losing control of $95,000.

I did find this Four-wheel steering will be included on the 7-series option list, with an all-wheel drive option slated to be offered in a few years.

Not too sure if this is a credible source or not, and from what that article says, not in the 2009 version.
