Hey man! Good to see there is someone else around here starting threads. I see so many other BMW owner's from up here on other forums. No idea why they won't post in here though.

Yeah, no idea either. We should have an official intro thread here, so we can all get to know each other. I do know one member "JohnnyWong", but he is not on here that frequently. Anybody with me?

Yeah Jonnywong is a good dude. I met up with him at the last meet. I guess to hit off an intro, I've got an e39 that I bought in may. It's a 5 speed and I've modded it a little bit. I live out in Federal Way, which is near Tacoma. Too bad gas is all messed up though. The weather is shaping up for a great cruise or a meet somewhere.

Nice to meet ya. My names Greg, i'm 19, I have a 96' 328i sport, it's the one in my sig. I am a huge fan of bimmers, and I am planning on buying an E39 here pretty soon to add to the collection. I'm going to shoot for a 540, but will probably land with a 530 or 528  As long as it's manual though, I don't care, it's the look I like.
Next :D ....

:thumbup:Good to meet you Greg! My name is Jason. I'm about to hit 21. I love my e39 though. The 528 is great on the gas mileage for it's size. I pull about 35 on the freeway cruisin at 65. The freeway performance is amazing as well for being an i6 in a larger car. The owner's manual says top speed is around 150, but I'm guessing with the sport 328, you're looking at about the same area. The 540 has amazing power, but with gas prices, I'd recommend a 530 or 528. Good hunting!

Nice to meet you too Jason..
Believe me, I know all about the 528, my older brother had a 97 5 speed, and I drove it quite frequently. In fact, that is when I first fell in love with E39's. The combination of refinement/smoothness with sportiness was just spot on. Of course I still love the raw road gripping feel of my E36, but I crave a silky smooth ride every once in a while as well to feed my subtle side :p That's why I want to have both an E36 and E39 together, I don't want to have to make the decision to buy/keep one or the other.
As of the 540's gas mileage, as long as it doesn't go past the $7 dollar mark in the next couple years, i'm still game for one. But like I said, as long as the E39 is a manual, I don't even care. I love the look and refinement of the chassis.

Haha no kidding, I am quickly being reminded how bright a freshly detailed alpine white bimmer glows in the sun.
Woohoo....summer is here!!

Yes there are Bimmer fans in the Northwest. Some are just now coming out of hybernation. I dont think that many people up here know about Bimmerfest . I lived in Santa Barbara for 30 yrs. , so I am familiar and have attended many Bimmerfest's. I know there are a ton of Bimmer fans up here , If they had regional Bimmerfest's (Pacific Northwest) ,you would probably see a lot more interest . Rock on!

Well, I'll jump in. I heard about Bimmerfest from the beginning actually, as I was in school at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo at the time, which is about 100 miles up the road from Santa Barbara. I haven't made it back since the first one in 2004, which admittedly might be for the better now since its a far different party now.
I hail from the Renton/Issaquah area. Name is (also) Jason, and I used to have a '91 E34 525i, but that got wrecked recently (minor accident but frame damage) so I've got an E92 335i, which is a blast to drive.
Nice to meet you all. Have fun out there in the sun!
