View Full Version : Questions on 1999 M3 Option Packages

I'm hoping for some help from some of you E36 M3 experts. I've had my 1999 M3 convertible for less than a year so I'm still trying to learn and doing research on these cars.

I'm wondering about option packages were standard on a 99 convertible M3 and what is optional.

I have the following features and it would be great if somebody could let me know if each of these is an option or standard equipment:

1. Heated seats
2. Traction Control
3. 6 CD Changer and HK Sterio system and speakers.
4. Roll Over Package
5. Power seats driver and passenger
6. Tiptronic automatic transmission with 3 settings.
7. Heated doors and mirrors.
8. Lighted visor mirrors.
9. Rear window defrost.
10. AC
11. Power mirrors
12. Light sensative rear view mirror.

Any other options from this era that might have been included on an M3 convertible from this era?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Bruce, thanks for the info and for the correction on my tranny speak. I saw somebody else on this site refer to the BMW tiptronic tranny so I thought that's what I had. Thanks for the schooling.

He means an auto dimming rear view mirror i think

that is what i figured, but I don't think it was ever on E36s. I could be wrong.

You guys are both right. I checked my mirror on the way home and it's a manual dimmer!

Hey there -- all the "full option" claims got to me so I made it my business to know all the options:

OBC all buttons
Heated seats
power setsw
LTW wheels -- rarest, since they were $1500
Harmon Karden sound

That's it. Very rare a car came with them all. Alarm/keyless entry was a dealer installed option.

Here's a very useful link to know your car -- the M registry site:
