View Full Version : 5 Tickets In 1 Night

Can u believe it? Yup 5 tickets I got in 1 night. The officer said he pulled me over for tinted windows, loud radio and then he said I went through a red light which was bull****. The light was yellow and I proceeded through with caution. And besides there was a cop in front of me and a cop in back of me so why didn't they pull me over? The cop instead that was coming down a side street decided to pull me over. So then he asked me for my license, registration, and insurance, so I unbuckled my seat belt and reached into my glove compartment and then he gave me a ticket for no seat belt. And then if that wasn't bad enough he gave me a ticket for no interior light. WTF. I asked him what that was for and he said he'll see me in court. What bull****!!! All my lights work. I had them on when I was getting out my documents. This is just crazy!!!
Has anyone ever received more than 5 tickets in 1 night?

I got pulled over 4 times in one night the first day I got my license because one of my headlights was out, but it was really the harness that was bad. Just needed to have the bad part cut out and spliced back together but all the cops were nice and I told them I already knew of the problem and the new harness was in the mail, takes 6-8 weeks for shipping. :D Fixed it the next day.
The only retarded part was that the 2nd guy that pulled me over, wanted to search the whole truck, with 6 people in it, at 1 in the morning, and about 40 degrees out....told him no way, we did nothing wrong and he had no reason to. He did freak out when I took my registration out of the glove box, because that is where I keep the faceplate case for my stereo,, he thought I was smuggling drugs in the case or something.
None of them gave me a ticket, just said get it fixed and let me go.
The interior light and tint should just be fix-it tickets, but the stereo, red light, and seat belt thing might be hard to argue, thats just your word against his, but good luck to ya...

Yup I am so serious. I live in such a corrupt city and state. My state has no money left so of course the officers are going to drum up any kind of bulls*t ticket, ya know
I am just so pissed off.
After he handed me the 5 tickets I said I hope you filled your quota for the month. He He He.
I just couldn't get over it though. I mean I could understand for the tints. But still he could've gave me a warning or something. And for the loud radio. Come on now it was just 10pm. And besides it wasn't that loud. But the worst was when I unbuckled my seat belt to get my paperwork out. That was hilarious how he gave me a ticket for that. And then of course the ticket for no interior lights I think that was the best out of all my tickets cause it was on the whole time.
Ohh and I forgot to mention this earlier. The cop really must have been blind because 1. He didn't notice that my interior lights were on when I was getting out my paperwork and 2. He said my car is a 4 door when I friggin drive a 2 door coupe. Ha Ha Ha

It's finally nice to hear that there are still some nice ops around in your town but unfortunately they can't be found in my town.
Yeah I think I will get some of my tickets dismissed but I seriously think the cop was blind when he said no interior light cause it was on the whole time and secondly he said my car is a 4 door. its not its a 2 door coupe. Ha Ha Ha
Oh yeah and these cops too were shining their flashlights in my backseat. I was like WTF is going on. There was no need for that. But of course they always says its normal procedure. Normal procedure my a**. I thought they had to have a reasonable amount fo info to do that but I guess not

Technically, you can get all your tickets dismissed if he said on all 5 that you were driving a 4 door when, infact, you were driving a 2 door.
Okay, that will be $500 for lawyer fees saved. :D

On 3 tickets he wrote 4 door and the other cop wrote out the other two tickets which just says 328-the model of my car

I am pretty sure that I can agree with what BmW745On19's said. If the cop wrote you car model wrong I think it is a good argument to state that he did not know what he was doing. I think that just shows that the cop was not in the right state of mind and that he was merely more concentrated on finding reasons to give you tickets than doing his job. You can always say (if you go to court) what happened with the seatbelt statement and say that he was abusing his power. That should definitely own him. I am sorry to hear what happened.

Yeah it seemed like the cop was on a serious power trip. He just wanted to show me that he had all the power in the world. He was trying to find everything little thing wrong with my car. Un real. Checking the front, the side, the back, all around. It seemed like 1 big joke when he started giving me all those tickets.
I didn't do anything wrong. And I'm sure this will all show up in court.
I can't wait to go. The ticket says that a court appearance is required and I can't wait to tell the judge the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
I mean I respect all types of authority and to have an officer do me such wrong is unthinkable.
Here I was a woman driving in my town (oh and did I mention I was wearing my extra tight t-shirt with my huge double D's ;) but still that didn't help me out! He He He) like a normal person minding my own business and boom out of no where get punished for obeying the law. Maybe I should've done something wrong then maybe I wouldn't have gotten pulled over. Just makes no sense to me.
I guess he was just looking to fulfill his quota thats the only logical thing I can think of. But it surely sucks to be me right now.
But I know I will win this case. I can just smell it.
Well wish me luck guys my court date is July 8
I will keep ya posted

just reading this reminds me how much i detest the dickless jerks who get jobs that empower them to do sh.t to decent people. I was once not allowed to leave my country going for vacation because i was missing some paper that by law I should not have had in the first place. But the shmuck at the border just thought he knew better and after few hours it was too late, plane left and so was that. Fight this, dont let them get away with this!

100% agree with you.
I will fight this all the way.
I was right and he was wrong.
He originally said he pulled me over for tints. Fine not a problem. I would've paid that ticket without a problem. But then when he said for me to wait he got more tickets for me. I was like are you kidding me?
And as he was writing up the tickets for me there were plenty of cars that were passing me by with tints and a loud ass banging system and how come he didn't pull them over?
I had 3 cop cars come to me for what? For friggin bull****. Instead of pulling me over for some simple crap they should've been out arresting criminals.

It's hard to categorize my feelings for cops. Some are good, some are not. Don't forget that, Heidi. Not all the boys in blue are bad. Yeah, there are a lot of d!cks in the PD, but there are a lot of great guys who are in it to make their community a better place.
Unfortunately, you got one of the d!cks.
Anyway, I think you can get off with much of your citation dismissed. But you need to make a decision here. None of those are moving violations, right? So they won't affect insurance. If any of them are MVs, get a lawyer to get you off on the technicalities. If they won't really affect you, it'll probably be cheaper to just pay and move on. Go to court, and be professional and logical, and make sure to make the cop sweat, but don't expect to win. You'll rarely win w/o a lawyer.
BTW, the flashlight thing is normal procedure. It is both so they can feel safer that the people in the back don't have any weapons, and so they can give extra tix for seatbelts if they aren't on.
Lastly, pix of said DDs........ :yumyum:

yeah I hear exactly what u are saying. Not all cops are bad. Yes, I do know that. But I'm sure since he wrote the wrong info on my tickets that most likely the 3 of them will be dismissed.
and yes I could've understood the flashlight thing but come on there was no one in my back seat. Nobody ever sits back there. So I really dont think it was necessary for him to keep flashing it back there unless he had probable cause and he didnt well at least not in my eyes

Just for the record, they don't have to have probable cause to look in your windows and such. It's called the "in plain sight/in plain view clause" and states that anything that is in plain sight in your car can be held against you without the officer having to obtain a warrant and/or demonstrate probable cause.

Yeah, they *should* be dismissed, but things do not go as they should in traffic court. I've been there before. It's more like traffic circus, and w/o a lawyer who knows what strings to pull the judge can say anything he likes and evade even true legalities.
Hell, proof positive - you have the right to face your accuser as a US citizen. I got a damn redlight violation for a rolling right turn, late at night, with my signal on, driving safely. It was from a camera. I can't stand there and cross examine the camera, can I? There wasn't even an officer there. Unfortunately it was a hectic time in my life so I just paid the near $400 fine and took traffic school.

+1 Anything in plain sight he can search. Lock your doors and he can't search inside any part of your vehicle. But, if you have something illegal in plain view, even with the doors locked, then they can seize it.

Well, here in California I swear that its either the Beamer or the beard that gets me out of tickets. Not once have I been pulled over and I have done so much!
Here are a few situations where I have NOT been pulled over.
Illegal U turn, I turned really fast and even spun the tires and ended up in the second lane rather than the first... and guess who pulls into lane #1... the one I should have been in... a 5-0. Looked RIGHT at me. I'm a new driver, I was so nervous... she even stopped at the same lights as me for the next few minutes, right next to me and just to top it off... when I was trying to turn on my signals I was really nervous and I high beamed her strait on TWICE. She did NOT pull me over.
Another time... I was in West Sacramento at 2 am, driving around looking for a house, driving really slowly. I saw tons of teens all thugged out walkin down he streets, so at the next 4-way stop I turned on the high beams and drove in two circles around the four way stop, trying to read the street names... i pulled into a street only to see a cop stopped right there... waiting. So I stop, thinking they were waiting for me, with their lights on etc... but i look over and they are talking to someone one the passenger side of the car lol....
another time, I got out of school early and was waiting for my friends, so I pulled up to the curb and laid my seat back and just sat there for a while. There were about a dozen cop cars at our school because of a gun threat or something, so here i am sitting in an all black car with all the windows tinted.. across the street... at a BUS STOP where it clearly says no parking ANY TIME. and this cop is staring strait at me. I waved, and drove off as soon as i realized i couldn't park there, and to top things off i did an illegal u-turn to get out of there, right in front of the cops... who were looking right at me for such a long time.
Plus the countless times cops look at my front tints and say nothing. Not even once. Yet a lot of people I know, who don't drive beamers.. or have a beard, have been given fix-it tickets lol...

I've had a speeding ticket and they wrote the wrong license plate, doesn't matter a bit in ontario. not sure about the states. I'm pretty sure we ahve no loud radio ticket either
I got pulled over for an improper muffler July 1. it was downtown, there was an officer running after me tooting on his whistle, haha, I keep telling myself I should have gunned it and saved either the $600 switch to stock or the $110 ticket plus another $110 ticket for not showing insurance at that time.
I see cops missing a headlight plenty of times too.
you have umm confidence (would have said balls but you're obviously female) going through a yellow with a police car in front and behind. if you ever read the highwaytrafficact forums where everyone posts all their tickets they get for advice there are plenty of entering the intersection when light turns yellow tickets
5 years ago my car would be pulled over everytime and myself searched and trunk for no reason other than suspicious driving. at 2 am in a small town like kitchener, tyhey suspect if you're out that late you must be drunk or high

yeah i see this all the time. but what makes me even sicker is when i see a cop running through a red light for absolutely no reason. I happen to follow them on a couple of occasions and there was no emergency they wee attending to. I guess they just want to show the power that they have..

yeah I do have a lot of confidence going through a yellow light cause thats what I'm supposed to do. I proceeded through the yellow light which caution and my whole entire car cleared the light before it turned red. And if it didn't why didn't the cop directly in back of me pull me over? Makes no sense.
5 years ago my car would be pulled over everytime and myself searched and trunk for no reason other than suspicious driving. at 2 am in a small town like kitchener, tyhey suspect if you're out that late you must be drunk or high
This is what ticks me off. If a person is just getting pulled over for a minor traffic offense and displays no signs of drinking or drug use then I found it wrong for a cop to be able to search a person or their vehicle. Just my opinion.
