I am a newbie here, I own a 1997 328i.
I have significant problems with my Climate control unit and require some help please. My Symptoms are:
Unit was working ok, then unit would suddenly turn itself off, including digital read outs. it would then automaticaly turn itself on and off at its own desire. Either on a/c or heating mode, Now unit will not turn on at all. and I have no air con or heating at all, with no readout on the climate control unit.
I have read most of the forums on here about the FSU units, but al said that there lights on the unit were still working. Mine dont.
Can anyone please help me

this is a very common problem. I used the website below also but after about a week or two the same problem came back

http://www.macadamizer.com/bmwfix.html

so what I would recommend to you is this website dont work for you definitely send it to these guys

http://www.bmw-repair.com/

i sent my unit to them and for 50 bucks my climate control unit was fixed and i have not had a problem since. and plus they guarantee their work. It was definitely worth my 50 bucks. Now my ac works when i want it to work not when it feels like turning itself on and off

but if for some reason u cant send ur unit to the above guys try searching around on ebay they offer similar repairs but make sure u check out their selling history before u make ur decision

best of luck buddy

I posted the same website ( as well as a new one) to help get my message across. Did I do something wrong? If so please let me know so I can correct it next thing. And cheers to you too!

No, No my dear Pirate_Copy friend

Not at all defensive here. Just being a little sarcastic. Didn't mean anything by it.
But I do get touchy with my hands when I feel the need to ;)
And I just wanted to let some members know that if the first website didn't fix their problem what other alternatives were out there for them. That was all. Because I originally used the first website to fix my problem but unfortunately for me the problem came back. It did not fix my problem at all. That is why I wanted to make other members aware of the other site (the second one I listed) because that is what fixed my problem perfectly. And I don't think there was any harm in doing that? Now was there my good ol' Pirate_Copy friend? ;)

Take care man and enjoy the weekend

Have a brewski on me! :)
