The X6 and some other models are now using "Mixed run-flat performance tires". Does this mean they are somehow semi-run-flat, maybe giving better handling than regular run-flat?

Or have they finally realized that having run-flats on all 4 wheels is redundant?

Why do you say that? :dunno:

I never heard of mixed before. Maybe a new term for staggered or the tire manufacturer used may vary. Not sure.

Well... i was kidding. If 50% of your tires are run-flat, that decreases your chances of getting a flat tire by 50%.

Right?

Anyway, any idea what these are?

Front and Rear axles have different width and sometimes different aspect ratio tires.Tires can't be rotated front to back and vice versa. Thanks! PalBay

*sigh*

my basic question is whether "Mixed run-flat tires" means anything different than "regular run flat tires".

Same tires, different sizes.
