Hey guys, i've got a 1989 520i and i would like to lower the car 40mm with lowering springs all round, just want to ask can i use the original dampers on the car or do i need to get sport dampers?

OK, By Dampers I am imagining that you are refering to shocks/struts as the are refereed to here in the US?

The answer is yes. If you are installing Sport/Lowering springs then you should use Sport shocks/struts. They are made with a slightly shorter stroke I believe. Others on here can give you a more descriptive explanation.

It does not matter. The max bound on sport or regular shocks is the same. If they are questionable you might want to replace them since you will allready be in there.

That's good to know! I allso noticed, in the bilstein, that the sports are e few bucks cheaper than the HD's :dunno:

The shaft on the sport is shorter but it uses the same internals. That could be the reason.
