Lemme guess - he used some of that really expensive gasoline that he couldn't really afford to set the car on fire.

i know, what a moron, that car give or take worth between 2-4k euros in germany (when not torched, obviously). For that money he could have gotten a nice little scooter, had plenty of cash left and would need to fill out like once in 2 months! Logic is all wrong here.

Depends on the condition. My friend picked up an e36 in good running order just recently for $3k. One with problems would be worth less. Its not like he touched an e30 M3.
