View Full Version : My new 335i Montego Blue with Coral Red Interior

So, the whole adventure came to a close today as I finally received my 335i after having placed an order for it in late April. I ordered the 335i, Montego Blue, Coral Red interior, Premium Package, Sport Package, Paddle Shifters, Navi, Step, iPod, Comfort Access and PDC, the car also came with floor mates. I was supposed to have picked it up this morning but when I called my lease broker he told me that the dealer had sent in a contract which did not reflect what we had arranged. My monthly payments were supposed to be 650, including tax, and 8 Multiple Security Deposits of 650 each were to be paid out, but, apparently, the dealer tried to 'tax' the MSDs which pushed them over 650, etc, etc, etc. So, a new lease agreement had to be drawn up and delivered personally from NJ to Brooklyn, NY. Instead of picking up my car at 10 AM today I got it at 4PM, no big deal, but I was already weary of what other surprises might pop up. In the end I'm happy to say the total out of pocket turned out to be LESS than what we had agreed on, so even better. And, since I owe so much to this site and the forum members here, I figured I'd share some pictures with you guys...so, here is my, as my friend calls it, 'Superman' 335i:

Looks fantastic! Congratulations on the new car. The coral red makes a bold statement! I had thought about that color interior, but wasn't sure in the long term how I would like it. I think it makes for a great contrast between inside and outside though.
The first thing that I would be doing though it so get rid of that grand prix badge that they have on the car....
Enjoy the new car and can't wait to hear about your upcoming road trip from NY to AZ!

Already beginning to plan for that trip! Yes, I'm going to get that grand prix badge off ASAP, I'm still going to stop by them, at least once, so I'll let it stay there for now, give them some free advertising for the great deal they got me :).

I absolutely love the colors and wood trim, but to each their own, it's my car for a reason, thanks for the input though :)

I don't know. I love it, especially on a coupe. It is loud though, but hey, that's what a sports coupe should be, right?

When I saw my friends red interior I was in love, he has a different exterior though. Since I love blue (my X5 was blue) I figured I'd go back to it with the red interior :), can't say I was disappointed!

I hope you are leasing bro cause that is a pretty bad combo and you will not find many in the market for that if you own. Resale is gonna tank but then again, you are the one driving it. I'm sure you'd figure you'd catch some flack for that combo but you do have a set of cajones!

Personally, I dig the contrast. My wife labeled your car a pimpmobile! I think the ladies will dig the ride.

Uh, then why post on a public forum, where you are sure to get the thoughts of others? This is a bold combo that will surely get polarizing comments. Don't be too thin skinned. BTW, I think it is a very stunning car, but it wouldn't be for me.

I did it because I wanted to thank the forum members who helped me through the process of getting this car. I knew some would like to see pics, so instead of waiting to be asked I simply provided them. You won't catch me saying this or that car isn't my 'cup of tea' or 'not for me', if I have nothing to say I move on. Nor do I think myself bold enough to proclaim what the public likes/dislikes.

he makes a point. Especially seeing how you've replied to pretty much everyone who has had something to say so obviously you do care.
However now is your memorable moment...Congrats man! Your payments are pretty good considering that baby is loaded. How much was your total deposit again?
I like everything except for the wood trim:)
Look into getting a custom plate 'SuprMan'

Whoa! Not for me, but if it makes you tick then more power to ya. Enjoy! I love Montego and I love coral but I'm not too crazy about the 2 together, but then I'm not the one driving it either.
and whoever disgraced your trunk lid with that awful dealer badge deserves a long a painful death.

:) thanks, I'll try to get it off eventually. Just hope I won't damage anything in the process...
But I will say the car looks better in person than on the pics, as I drove by I absolutely fell in love, so not an ounce of regret.

The dealer thing will come right off with a heat gun. It will leave some residue from the adhesive but it's nothing that a little gumout or GooGone won't take care of.
Finish it up with a nice Zaino treatment and it will be good as new.
As a matter of fact, the dealership might even take it off for you if you ask the right way.

It isn't the dealership's :) but the leasing company I went through. No worries, it'll come off in the next few weeks. I might just wait so that when I get tints put on I'll ask the shop to take it off.

Very nice! I considered that combo myself. I just didn't want everyone staring at me at every red light and thinking, 'what an egotistical !$!#" Not that I think you are, but it's just a color combo that might send the wrong impression.
Personally, I think it would look better with gray poplar, but if you like the burl best, that's all that matters.

I think envy/jealousy would follow you no matter what color BMW you drive. I guess not wanting to 'stand out' could make someone not get these colors, and I definitely gave this combo a lot of thought. Decided I didn't want to wait for a better time (as something can always get in the way) to get the car that I like, so went for it with this one.

Total out of pocket was 1459 minus the multiple security deposits and the first month's payment. I should also get some of that back (a hundred or so) since I'm not getting new plates.

Looking up Basset Catering, you are probably correct, the pictures were taken in Brooklyn, Avenue X and 15th Street. I've never heard of basset catering before though, not in this area much nowadays.

I'm one who likes contrasting colors for the exterior and interior. I think your color combination is sharp looking. Congrats on your choice. I even considered coral red with crimson red but the shades didn't match up well and the combo didn't look good to me.

I have dark burl wood in mine too... But I would never get it with coral red. In fact, I think it's the only coral + dark burl combo I've ever seen....
I think it'd be better w/ either grey poplar or aluminum.
Whatever though man, to each his own!

A buddy of mine had a 'vette in the same color combo. He loved it and it sure attracted attention. His only regret came when he had to sell. He had a tough time because it was a non traditional combo. But then you won't have to worry about resale since you are leasing.
Again, enjoy. It's a great car...

i love the combo. i couldn't do it because i fell in love with alpine white the first time i saw it but i definitely like the way it looks. and the picture doesnt do the burlnut justice. I saw a jet black 335i with coral red and burlnut interior and it actually looked really good. it almost made me change my order from alum trim. it really depends how the light hits it. anyway, congrats man! its a great feeling.
