the difference is response time,and brightness,when brakes are applied, You see them come on //in a flash not a bulb that glows and fads out..:yikes:

I put in a set, and the lights out indicator on my dash lit up. Put the same ones in the turn signal and it blinked fast, like there's a dead bulb. My guess is the LED assembly needs more resistance in it or something.

I am willing to bet the computer doesn't "see" the LED bubs. There is no way to run a really low current through the filament to check if it is OK (like I think happens with the incandescent bulbs).
