I'm pretty sure that it will be either of these two cars. What should I look out for? I'm gonna get it through a dealer that I've bought a few cars off of (with no problems). What about driveability, livability, running costs? :dunno: Any info could help me out.

Thanks,
Tyler

I was in a similar situation, I went with a e36 M3 for 2 reasons,
1st - Everyone and their grandma has a standard e46, they are a dime a dozen.
2nd - I really wanted something with a "M" on it. gives the car a more "collector" feel and I hope that the E36 M3's have already depreciated as much as they are going to... regrdless I know in 6 years a e36M will have more appeal than a e46 coupe (if both are in equal condition of coarse)

but all in all... this is just all my opinion.

Buy what you like. If you like the e46 body, buy it. I bought my car because it was sporty, and the color was different. too many people buy nice cars and just blend in with everyone else, but this may be what you are going for...

get the m3. idk how it is where your from, but here in kansas it seems like every car that passes is an e46. i am one of the very few owners with a clean well maintained e36. get the e36
