Supp guys, I'm back.. how you all doing today???

OK i just ordered the 3 Series LIFETIME WARRANTY Rear Shock Mounts and Reinforcement plates from BimmerWorld, I know the ones that I have are OEM and look like they are really worn. The Rogue Engineering and Ground Control RSM were a better choice but they were a lot more expensive and think are more aimed for Beemers with performance Shocks/Struts. The ones I purchased are almost the same price as OEM but much more improved and had a lifetime warranty so I can't really go wrong there.. LOL

Question about Shocks - I don't know if I need to replace my Shocks/Struts/Suspension etc but it feels like my Shocks have totally gone bad. I feel every little bump that I drive across. I can feel it it more in the rear but I do believe the fronts are bad too. I'm not sure though exactly what it is that I need to change. When you are driving even at 25 MPH and feel every little bump and imperfection in the road as if someone removed the springs your car what is that telling you guys???

Question about the O2 sensor - I definitely feel that the Oxygen Sensor needs to be changed. My code reader tells me the Oxy Sensor is bad and every syptom I have read matches the problems that I have. Poor performance, Excess Fuel Consumption so I am going to change that too but here is my question. How many Oxygen Sensors are there in a 92 E36 325i, all the DIY and threads that I have read it sounds like there is only 1 but a mechanic friend tells me that there are 4 oxygen sensors under my car. I was hoping someone here could clear that one up for me. Hopefully there is only one as these can get a little pricey if I have to buy 4 of them or have to diagnose to see which ones are bad.

Thanks Guys!!!

if you look under your car i think you should be able to see all the o2 sensors, I think dual exhaust has two but I'm not sure. I think there is also an o2 sensor between the air filter and intake manifold. One thing for sure is that if your o2 sensors are acting up they can cause your car to do all kinds of crazy stuff

the oxygen sensors are in the exhaust. obd2 cars have multiple sensors, 1 in front of the cat, & 1 in back. the rear sensor is there to check the efficiency of the cat. if there is a sensor in the intake boot anywhere it would most likely be an intake air temp sensor. (not sure if this was used on many bmw, if any, but many other vehices used one.

shocks and struts, if they are leaking, or if they feel poor, then replace them. if you are just doing normal everyday driving, then stock/oem style would be sufficient. if you wish for more spirited driving, then i suggest upgrading to a more aggressive unit. which one depends on the type of driving you wish to do and your budget.

Once I get my RSM's delivered and install them I'll jack up my car and take a look for myself and see exactly how many O2 sensors my car has. If I remember correctly last I checked they were about $80 for the sensor with connector.

Regarding to the struts/shocks.. after reading the forums I think I may just pick up some Bilstein HD if I can find for a good price. I have no idea how much stock OEM are but I'm sure they can't be that much cheaper. LOL I could be totally wrong!!!

Here is a little detail to how my car drives and hopefully someone has had this problem.
When I initially start my car in the morning and the engine temp is only just starting to warm up the car drives pretty good. Gas pedal feels light and the car is responsive. About 5-10 minutes after the car has reached its normal temperature, I feel like I am driving a 4dr Civic LS... the car feels heavy and weak. It does not respond as fast when stepping on gas and then engine sounds a lot louder. Also after a furthur 10 minutes mostly during rush hour my temp gauge needle rises to the next notch (the last notch before the red). Oh and the check engine turns on around the time that the car loses power and starts to feel heavy and then intermittently turns off again.. and then on again.. around every 5-10 minutes.

Any clues???

You have 1. It's before the cat.

FACT: OBDI cars (92-95 for the E36) had one pre-cat O2 sensor.
FACT: OBDII cars (96-99 for the E36) had 4 O2s, 2 pre-cats, 2 post-cats.

Bilstein HDs should be good for you if you're on OEM springs. I had Bilstein Sports and loved em.

I'm really not sure on the last thing, sorry.
