I wanted to pick up a book at the Welt but it was 5-6 pounds, and I didn't feel like carrying that around Europe for 3 weeks so I decided against it. I was hoping it would be possible to pick the book up when I got back home.

To those of you who may have picked it up, is this the same book (http://www.amazon.com/Urban-Landscape-Design-Architecture-Flannery/dp/3832792317/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1215842803&sr=8-1) they offer at the Welt? I liked the photography and the layout of the book they had there. This one looks like it but I'm not sure if it's the exact same one!

I also wanted to get this book but didn't have any room for it. Hopefully there's a place to order it. I'm not sure that book is the same one, maybe someone can confirm?

My husband not only found the book at the Welt interesting, but photographed a couple of pages. I had him look at the one in Sonet's link above and he says that is the same book.

Well, I have always heard that when you find something your TRULY want while in Europe, go ahead and buy it and then ship it home...:)

Cheers,

Cheers,I was seriously close to sending a box home filled with just stuff from the Welt. It would have made our suitcases about 10 pounds lighter

I was seriously close to sending a box home filled with just stuff from the Welt. It would have made our suitcases about 10 pounds lighter

With all the stuff and books from the Welt, the opening day gifts, the first day of delivery gifts, plus other accumulated chatchkes, I ended up with a fairly large box the size of a small suitcase that accompanied me on my trip in October along with the extra large suitcase I had brought to accomodate multiple wardrobe requirements.

When I checked into my return flight, I think the two together were 60 kg.

That's the one real lesson I learned in Europe this past trip, PACK LIGHT. My girlfriend and I quickly grew tired of carrying (2) 45 pound suitcases, (2) heavy backpacks, and a camera bag.:thumbdwn:

I always pack light but on a two-week trip where I had to pack for multiple activities (giving a speech, more casual meetings, normal casual clothes, jeans, clothes and shoes for hiking) it's not possible.

The 60 kg wasn't so bad as the box lived in the 550i's trunk and I just added things to it. The large suitcase was on wheels and easily manageable.

Thanks guys. I'm thinking this is it and I'm going to order it. I wrote the ISBN number down someplace when I was there but I can't seem to find it.

Anyway I'll let you guys know when it arrives! They're offering free shipping, and I think the book is even cheaper than it was at the Welt.

Figures! This version just sold out and the second printing will be available in September. Who is the punk here that bought the last copy? ;)

I found it on Amazon and pre-ordered. It is the same book that is on the Welt site.

The book on the Welt site is the first one. The others may interest some.
