Hey Guys,
so I have less than a year left on my 4 yr/50k mile waranty service coverage and wanted to know if people were in the same boat. Did anyone decide to increase their warranty coverage? if so, how much was it and to what time period?
I had a huge service close to my 30k just last week where i had a lot of electrical problems. I was curious to see how much the damage actually was but since it was all covered it says warranty on the paperwork.
List of things that happened:
Central locking system didn't work anymore...found they had to replace the right accentuator? something like that
My passenger airbag kept shutting on and off for the last year or 2 and they finally found a fault code, took the leather off and replaced the wiring in the seat.
replaced the front brakes and sensor because it kept saying i had 7k miles left on my front brakes which was not true since i heard a lot of noise.
Blue tooth and BMW assist menus a few times was not accessible. Could be my Not Approved Verizon 8830 but they updated the software on my car.
Standard check/scope
In fear of BMW's imfamous "electrical" problems, i may have to ask about extending my warranty? What do people think?

My dealer wanted $2800 for the 2yr extension on the original maintenance and warranty, so I figured there is no way I'll have to spend that much in the next 2 years. Well the maint/warr was up in Dec and so far I've spent $1500 and now the engine misses and is due for an Inspection II in a couple of months. So you do the math. Bob

it seems that if the car continues having electrical problsm that the extension could be worth it...i will discuss with my service rep the closer i get to the end of my warranty.

Be sure to check with Adrian in Atlanta (board sponsor) and here http://www.twinkidneygrill.com/Quote.html , use coupon code FEST to save $50 (it may or may not still be active).

depending on it I ditch the car from an M in 2 years it's up in the air. I do a good 20k miles a year so coverage for 100k sounds good to me as that should last almost 5 years. Don't intend to have this car any longer than that.

It appears they're having a website problem right now.

I am also trying to get the rates for extended warranty for my 2007 335i.
For 5 yrs (from today) and 75K miles I am getting the quote of around 2K from AAA, Mercury insurance and also from my BMW dealer.
If you have 325i then your rates must be lower as just for Tubro they added 200 to my quote. I have only 10K miles so that was one positive point.
If you want I can give you the contact numbers of couple of places I called.

I would go w/ bumper-to-bumper from a trusted well-known ext. warranty company. A cheap offer from lesser known Co. won't do any good if they go bankcrupt before your terms.
BMW ext. warranty, which costs a tons but only covers for maintenance, ie brakes & inspections, not worth it, imo.

You have a JL amp and a 12inch sub!? wow, i'm even surprised you didn't void your warrenty to begin with; especially since you've had electrical issues. A spike in your amp's output could of easily damaged some sensitive equipment on your car's computer. Take that extended warrenty in a heart beat if they are even offereing it to you!
