:D

Could be a fun car. And cheap. Sorry if it's a repost.

On another note, I didn't even know that Toyota owned Subaru.

Why was I thinking GM owned Subaru? Did they used to?

Perhaps you were thinking of Saab? :dunno:
Also Saab sold the 9-2x which was a Subaru underneath.

Ooops...

Lol, After reeding it I'm confused. Does toyota own subaru completely? or is it just a joint venture?

They used to own something like a 20% minority stake.

AFAIK they are still owned by Fuji Heavy Industries; doubt one JV with Toyota has changed that.

GM did own a percentage (~ 20% IIRC) of Fuji Heavy Industries, which owns and manufactures Subaru. GM sold their share of FHI to Toyota in 2005, and Toyota recently increased their holdings (due to stock restructuring, Toyota currently owns approximately 17%). Joint ventures like this one are generally the result of some sort of ownership interest.

Thanks for clearing that up.
