Tires for 2006 525xi

Im thinking of buying a 2006 525xi, and I've found a nice car but it has a floaty ride. Could it be the tires? They're new Goodyear Eagles 225/50/R17. What tires would you suggest for this car. I'd prefer to avoid run-flats.

Yes, the OE Goodyear RS-A tires are all season tires, and just fair in dry grip and steering response so they may feel a bit 'floaty' or slow to respond to steering inputs. There are better tires out there. Are you willing to move to a summer-only tire and run separate winter tires or do you need to stick with an all-season tire?
