When you bought your 6'er? what other cars did you consider? This is my 1st bimmer, in the past I have been a Honda, Audi, Porsche and Benz owner..my father had a 740 back in the day, however, I never drove it... he use to love it!

I was in two minds before buying my 650, I was on the verge of buying the 997 Carrera 4S model, however, settled for the 650 because the 4S was running me another 20K more....after owning the 650, I dont regret not getting the 4S...except the trips to the dealer for silly little things I love my 650 ....

Funny thing is that if I was to sell the 6, I would probably buy another 911. :confused:

650 is my first BMW also. Was thinking about getting a 335 coupe then decided it was too small, and wanted a bit more luxury. Then was thinking about a 550 but really didn't want a sedan. So chose the 650, with no regrets. Still getting a kick out of how it turns heads lol.

It was a Vantage with the V12. I just never liked how the convertible top sat up high behind the seat. I love how my 6 top hides completely and the rear deck is smooth and flush.

I was between the RR Sport SuperCharged, cls55 or 997 carrera s. Didn't like the int./comfort of the 997, cls55 are everywhere, and Sport SC is in every local gas station.

I am happy with my 6, I waited a while but I got the color combo I wanted (alpine/blk).

I was also looking at the CLS 55 AMG and the Vantage...but i am so in love with the six i didn't think about it long...especially after seeing the price difference between the six and the vantage...but there were others as well...just wasn't really serious about buying them...just looking just because...but I have always beenin love with the 6

I don't think I could bring myself to buy anything but BMW at this point. Sad huh?

NO Rix, after having my 1st BWM I am officially hooked.....I drove an X3 loaner and loved it too....I hated to see that I was actually enjoying driving an SUV, I havent driven an M3 or an M6....wondering h ow those will feel....

I am the same way with my X5. I moved up into the sticks and traded in my 528i sedan for an X5. Still have it and plan to use it exclusively from Nov-April. I'll keep the 6 garaged until spring. I'm still amazed how the X5 handles so much like a car. Didn't hurt that I have the sport package on it. But I too was surprised that I like the SUV as much as I do.

I had to replace a '99 Grand Prix GTP with 92k miles on it (which I drove for 9 great years)....I considered the 335, Infinity G37, and the MB CLK 550 before settling on a used 650. I wanted a larger coupe/2-door. Drove all of them and by far loved the 650. The others a good cars, too, but just too small for me.

I am the same way with my X5. I moved up into the sticks and traded in my 528i sedan for an X5. Still have it and plan to use it exclusively from Nov-April. I'll keep the 6 garaged until spring. I'm still amazed how the X5 handles so much like a car. Didn't hurt that I have the sport package on it. But I too was surprised that I like the SUV as much as I do.

I had an '06 GTO, very nice car, a real sleeper, and just a fargin' monster.

I saw the 6 on a lot (I love the style) and went by several times before engaging. Ended up working with the sales manager directly (it was actually his car).

My wife (who was with me) was like "That is the hottest-looking car I've seen." Next thing I know - I'm a proud 6-er owner!

i had a clk320 03 never gave me any problems and i put 84k in 3 years on it....i was goin to get cls550 cuz i was always a bmw hater (i even have the shirt that say "this is your brian" then it shows a mbz sign "this is your brain on drugs" bmw sign...i wear it while i drive my car 2)needless to say i got the 650i and i must say i am very happy with my choice cuz im only 21...bmw is when u want to drive the **** out of your car and mbz is when your 30-35 and after that you move on to bigger and better things:thumbup:

Not sure. It was over three years ago when I got my first 6. Kinda over it now. I mean it was designed in 2002 and released in 2004. I think it is time to look forward.

3 other cars i considered: 997 Turbo, Maserati Grant Turismo, & Aston Martin V8 Vantage.
Turbo and Vantage were cut out later because the Aston doesn't have rear seats and the Turbo's rear seats... well you know, they just put seat belts and cushions and call them seats haha
The Maserati is italian so (no offense or anything) it probably needs a lot of costly maintenance.
Also these cars don't have a trunk as big as the 6er. I need a large trunk and four seats cuz i go on a lot of road trips with my two kids and wife.
The BMW was the safest, most reliable, roomiest, and cheapest out of all four so I went with the Bimmer.
Glad I did! haha ;)

At first I liked the SL 500 more. The lines, the size ( don't need back seats), the hard top, the price, but then I drove the 2 back to back and there was no comparison. My wife did the same and said to go with the 645. The SL felt very dated and soft. It also had a very cheap finish to it. I really love my car and am glad with the decision. I may get a 997 next but we'll see what else is out there in 3 years.

I seriously considered an S4 cabriolet, which on paper, fit my "needs" (I don't actually need a high-end convertible for weekends): true four seater, 4-wheel drive (the car is housed upstate NY in snow belt) and familiarity with Audi (was leaving an A4 cab). Once I drive the 6er, those considerations just sorta faded away.

I actually went into the dealer to look at a 7 series... My pops has had Bimmers almost my entire life, so I grew up really enjoying them and seeing how well built they are... He gets the new 7 series every time they release the new model so naturally I enjoyed that car very much... but when I went to the dealer I test drove both and just fell in love with the 6 series and the over all apperance of the car. The shape and design of the car is just amazing.. So I went with the 6 series. I also was considering a 911, but the 6 just kept me looking....
