328i problem

hi chaps,this is my first post and am looking for some advice. ive got a1997 328i coupe manual,all std .ave only had the car a month and got it private.the problem is am getting a knocking noise from the bottom of the engine,which i thought was bottom end gone to start but its comes and goes so ive been told its not that,been told to get it a engine flush and filter and new oil as was told something might be sticking,the noise does get very loud but when it does it gets a little bit louder with revs.but like i said dosnt do it all the time.i can start it now and its fine and drive 10 miles and when stop it does it,but on the other hand did 190mile round trip last week and nothing sweet as a nut,have any 1 got any ideas or a similar prob,would be great if some 1 can help,i only drive cars dont no that much about engines,but trying to learn fast,love this car and want to make it spot on ,any ideas would be great,thanks tim

i got money on it being injectors, but thats just off the top of my head. is there any check engine light?
chances are this is a problem you are going to want to get fixed before it causes any real harm (if it already hasen't)

hi thanks for the repliy,do you mean engine warning light coming on if so it hasnt.and how can the injectors make the bottom end knock,sorry if i sound a bit thick
