Escort Passport 9500ix
I can find it on ebay for $395.00 +shipping $15.00 =410
do you think it's the best one in the market?
by the way, I saw some laser detector from the TV show "TOP GEAR."
something out law, but still in market.
let me know if there is anything better!

Possibly, but if you buy it on ebay and not from an actual retailer, you get 0 warranty or support. might be something to consider! especially at a price like that.

2 years ago I bought the laser detector from a dealer which cost me around $200 and what happen was, I got more speeding tiket than ever.
maybe because I was depending on $200 cheap laser detecter. so at this point, I probably need something good.

Escort only gives you factory warranty if you have an original bill of sales from a licenced retailer.

I'm not sure I get the point of a laser detector. If a cop pulls the trigger on the car in front of you, will your detector pick it up? I'm under the impression that it'll only pick it up if the cop pulls the trigger on you. And if you are speeding, it's too late.

yes, if he pulls the trigger in the general direction of where you are the detector will pick it up. if you have cars driving in a caravan, it is impossible for the cop to determine the speed of each vehicle. the only thing he can get is the speed of everyone. at that point he picks and chooses whom he's going to F with. now with laser that's a bit different. with laser, he can pinpoint any single vehicle. as it's way more accurate.
hope this helps to clarify

Precisely! So, if the cop uses his laser on the car in front of you, you won't ever know! You'll only know if the cop points it at you. And at that point, it's too late.

not really bc there is a variance. they need to have a solid/constant reading for a certain amount of time. if you notice it fast enough you get away:) besides that there is the laser beam dispursing product from escort that consumes the laser and doesn't give the cop any kind of reading at all:D these work in sync with the radar detectors

I didn't realize the laser had dispurtion. I thought it was similar to a laser light. Thanks for the clarification.
