NEED HELP A FEW QUESTIONS.. e36 318is

Hi all first thing is im respraying my car inside out so im taking out everything in the engine bay but the thing is i cant get the fuse box out and all the wirring connects to it at the end so i want it all out.


next thing is power windows
the right window goes up half way and on the switch i have to press down for it to go up?? :dunno:


left window doesnt go up or down?? checked all fuses there fine.


last is sunroof it tilts up when i go to slide it in to open it.. it doesnt go back one side of the sunroof goes down the other side of the sunroof looks like its stuck WHAT could it be??? i changed the sunroof motor its not the problem so dont know what it could be.

Windows will be your switches, you will need to replace them with new ones, mine does exactly the same just haven't got round to replacing them. Not sure about the rest buddy sorry.

ok thanks so just the up and down buttons need to be changed?

cause for the left window which doesnt go up or down just makes a noise when i press it.. but the noise is coming from behinde the glove box??

sunroof fix'd right hand window fixed all thats left is the left side window doesnt go up or down what could it be... anyone??

Did you replace that switch yet? Maybe the motor is going..

You can't pull the fuse box out unless you pull the entire car's wiring harness which is about 30-40 feet of wire and weighs about 20 lbs.

yep changed the switch still no good going to change the window motor tomorrow then.


so fuse box wont come out but then when i get it resprayed i will just have to work around all that wirein lol thanks for the info.

ok all windows work sunroof work everything is working now my friend come over fixed the left window..



now with the wiring does anyone have a link to how i can take it out i dont mind how long it is or how heavy, im painting the whole car pink with purple pearl i wont it to look nice painted inside out so want everything out of the engine bay so please anyone help...
