So, I parked my 650 in my garage and went upstairs to my office (I made sure all my windows were closed, my moon roof pulled down etc...always do) I come back at 8pm and while I am about 10 yds from the car I was not paying much attention pressed my unlock button on my remote a few times....opened the trunk to put my briefcase in ...closed the trunk, guess what I see?
I see the moonroof up, both my windows down by 2 inches uniformly.... has anyone experienced something like this, it seemed like the car was ready to be driven, reminded me of bumble bee in Transformers...... note the key was in my hands...I am wondering how this could have happened. After this I closed all windows again and pressed the unlock buttons several times but it didnt happen again....I am still very unsettled about this....anybody?
I dont think I left the windows open, I know that for sure....

:) it's the automatic vent options would be my best guess. when enabled, it lowers your windows and opens the sunroof a bit to allow for venting in the car when it's hot outside. you can set certain times for this to happen automatically in the idrive menu. just disable it.

Woah, I thought it was a ghost or something...lol!
I will check under the climate control options...is that where it is located?

Nope :thumbdwn:
Neither the sunroof or windows are affected via the "auto vent" setting.

Alarm didnt sound however, I might have held the unlock button too long coz I think I pressed it too many times or held it for too long or something like that but both my windows and my moon roof were open....

+1....you clearly held the unlock button too long. Auto vent is actually known as "Parked car operation" in the climate menu......Phil

not an aftermarket mod. it works on yours too... try it.. when the car is locked push unlock once then quickly push unlock again and hold it. vert opens up but unfortunately ithe key doesn't close it.

If you just hold unlock, the windows will lower first(vert) the top will open once all the windows are down.So if you let go the unlock button as soon as the windows reach to its lowest the top wont open.If you want to close the top,you would need to insert your key in the door lock, and turn it to the right and hold it.

Holding the unlock button does drop the top and windows. But I found you have to be right ontop of the car for it to work. Also, if anyone crosses your path between the key fob and the car, the top movement stops. Not sure if this is just me or all 6s. I do know the 330 I just traded in also wanted you to be really close to the car to unlock/lock, while my X5 could be unlocked from the other side of town. Personally if I have to be that close to the car, I might as well get in and drop the top my self.

Confirmed for the 650 coupe - holding the unlock button for slightly longer elevates the moonroof and lowers the windows completely...pretty darn cool, I did it from quite a distance so I guess it might be helpful certain times...not always...
