Any dealers here in SoCal (or thereabouts) have any of these in their new car inventory?
If you know of one, please drop me a line.
After searching for months, I'm about to throw in the towel for good.
Why is every other damn wagon black, grey or white?

Have you tried to find a CA that is willing to use BMWs dealer system to search for you?
Yeah, you might stumble on one, but don't hold your breath.
And even if you where willing to go to the trouble of going to every SoCal dealerships web site only about 1 in 2 actually post their inventory.
Except for the sponsors I don't think any dealers are trolling the board for sale leads.
I assume you are talking 08, are you willing to take any option configuration just to get the vehicle???
I just went through this looking for an E93. Because the CA I was working with accepted the fact that they didn't have a match on their lot she started searching other dealers inventory and inbound vehicles. First hit was in Arizona, a good match option and color wise but I balked at the $1200 shipping cost, this may a included some sort of kick-back to the other dealer.
Since I seriously considered the other car, I decided to simply make my configuration requirements more flexible. I gave her a list of must have options and said the rest where don't cares. Suddenly, my Sparkling Graphite/Saddle Brown was on a boat about to be unloaded after the weekend, it probably was available all along. It is more loaded than I would have ordered one but I got my colors, a great price and 0.9 financing so I'm happy.
Have someone on with access to BMW's inventory system is the only way you'll find out if there are any of these available. Have you contacted PhillppeK (http://directory.bimmerfest.com/siteSponsor.php?action=viewsitesponsor&SpCId=118)?
Your color choice is personal, but it is certainly not a mainstream one.

BmwKbiker, thanks. Yeah, I have contacted two CA's and nothing has shown up yet.
Curiously enough, Sparkling Graphite and Crimson Red are my back-up options-- car must come with premium and sports package.
I'll give those a try next, but I'm not holding my breath for the Crimson Red. I know that one is pretty much a lost cause too...
I'm just somewhat amazed that so few Montego Blue wagons are out there--
and it really is a striking color. But then again, I'm very partial to blue...

LOL.... well then I guess that proves my point. And the problem with Monaco is that although it's a nice/elegant color,
it's simply too much like black and too little like blue for my taste.

You have a lot of stuff going against you:
It is a wagon so limited inventory before you consider the color (I had the same issue with the 'vert)
Montego is more of a coupe/vert color and not something the dealer is going order for their inventory
If you could even find one, you would have take it as configured.
I don't think these dynamics will change for the 09 models either. Except that dealers will be happy to have your car built to order. If it has got to be either Montego, SpG or Red then yeah just give up and order one (would Space Gray work?). If you have some more flexibility, you need to have an interactive session (phone/in preson) with some logged onto the BMW (DSC?) inventory system.
I had given up on the Saddle interior, even though it was something I was sure about from the get go. I never could decide between SpGraphite & SpaceGray and I liked Monaco when I saw it in person. Which brings up another point, during this process I visited the CA, test drove both of their in stock E93 which only convinced me I didn't like their colors. But before I left we trolled the dealers lot and looked at interior/exterior colors regardless of the model. This really helped me decide what colors I would be willing to take and what simply wasn't right for me, at lead to the successful DSC search.
There is nothing like seeing the colors on the lot during daylight hours.

Good luck trying to find any Touring in stock with the options you want then alone in M Blue.
Chances are nil if you are looking for a MT (I don't trust the GM AT personally)
Just do a custom factory order and wait the 8 or so weeks.

I'm in the same boat. I have come to the conclusion that I will have to special order my wagon; monaco blue, saddle interior, manual shift, & sport package. Just waiting for the 2009 pricing to come out.

I agree. And I know *exactly* what I want: Montego with Terra Dakota leather. What a pipe dream...
First I gave up on the interior, then on the options, and now I'm giving up altogether-- no Montegos at all.
When I ordered my M3 with a similar configuration,(Interlagos Blue and Cinnamon), I left a couple of salesmen scratching their head,
so I can see (but not understand) it's not to everyone's taste, but I know what I like, and it's a killer combo...:D

Yup, sad thing is, this is where I was at 6 months ago or so.
Then I decided on a CPO since used Montego wagons are available-- but dealers are not too inclined to deal,
and, frankly, I'm not paying $32K for 07 wagons which stickered at $40K and with the sedans selling for well under 30. It's absurd.
And now of course, 0.9% financing and August lease rates/incentives make grabbing a new one of the lot feasible again,
but of course, no wagons are available. And when the 09's come out, MF will once again be sky-high again (.00250 in April, May, June, July),
financing promotion will be over and residuals will most likely plummet even more, and I'll be plunged into this vicious circle again.
In hindsight, I should have just bitten the bullet and done an ED back with April rates(which I had locked). Live and learn.
But seriously, some day the stars will line up and I will have my Montego Blue wagon...

I have asked a couple of dealers if they are willing to take $1000 over invoice so I can place my order...no bites! Don't get it. I know prices will increase slightly. That being the case, why will a dealer not take the offer and book a sale? So...still waiting.

Yup, the wagons are rare as hen's teeth. Yet 'there's no demand for wagons' so BMWNA give us no engine choices and even finding one at a dealer to look at is hard here in SoCal. I'm hoping gas prices climb again and the US car buying public rediscover the wagons at the expense of the X series, so I have more choice in 3 years when my lease expires.
