I purchased the E90 in DFW from Autobahn BMW. I wanted the E92 and the only one I could find with the color combination and options was in GA. Adrian had the car but Wife would not let me go to GA to get it. and the car did not have 0.9%(used with 5K) but it was priced less than my E90. More on this later.

So here is the Break down.

328i E90

Check my Invoice price break down. This was one of the later ones so it has the price increase.

E90 Plat Bronz with Beige.
$29810.00
Automatic Transmission
$1210.00
Metallic paint
$430.00
Heated Seats
$455.00
IPOD adapter
$365
Premuim Package
$2960
Destination and Handling
$825.00
Training fee
$180.00

Total $36,235.00
Minus $1210.00 for the Free Automatic Transmission

Total invoice $35,025.00

I paid $35.125.00 Plus TT&L with Zero down and 0.9%.

Fist payment is next September. I purchaed in mid July thinking 0.9% was July only.

I have not driven the car since I purchased it. Don't really want to. I wish I took Adrian's deal at BMW of South Atlanta. ( I would like to thank Adrian for his hard work in looking for a car for me.) Adrian did the same. No BS stright upfront on what he could do.

Brandon Lee at Autobahn was one of the nicest CA I haved purchased from. No BS. Was very upfront. Ask what it took to do the deal and what he could do. I checked their inventory online and e-mail Brandon to check if the car was instock.

It was the Best Deal I could find in TEXAS that matched the wife's color combination requirements.

We where out last night and there was a E92 and E90 next to each other. I pointed it out to my wife and she said she did not see any difference but it was too late now.

I should have gone to GA to get the E92 for about $1000.00 less but I would lose out on my BMWCCA rebate, 0.9%, and the cost to fly out to Ga and drive back or the shipping charges.

Now I'm in a E90 I don't drive or even ride in. I've just handed the key Fobe to the wife and said enjoy the car.

The orginal plan was to Do ED for a E92, but 0.9 and free Automatic was too good to pass up. I could not find a E92 in Texas that was Plat.Bronze.
No one had one in stock and the two Silver E92 I found were goine were gone. (one sold, other traded) Any other incoming woud have showed up after 07/31/08. Too late for 0.9%. (So I thought)

Buying from Brandon Lee and Autobahn was one of the best buying experiences I've had.

What does the board think???
Should I have waited for the E92 incoming???(TOO LATE anyways) Or Just enjoy the DEAL??? Is bird in hand better than two in the bush???

it is too late for this purchase - you have the car... but I would rather wait for the right car than purchase something that is just not right. I have at least 3 colors which are equal to me - and 3 more I would accept if the options were EXACTLY right... it makes purchasing much easier. Sounds like you had ONE color in mind as your only acceptable color - that HAS to make other options more flexible - and in your case, that meant SEDAN vs Coupe had to be a variable... if color was THAT important, you have to give and take the other stuff of factory build to get it 100% (or wait).

Now you have the E90 - just enjoy it!

out of interest - why would you have lost the BMWCCA rebate free auto and 0.9% getting the car from out of state - was it pre-owned?

Yes, OP said it had 5,000 miles.

Too late now...great deal or lousy, does it matter? Not unless you want the chance to drown in misery. Unfortunately, you have already made you mind up that you wanted the E92, not the E90. Get over it, and order the car next time for ED or at least PCD (pick it up in SC and drive it through Atlanta on your way back). We got our E90 through Adrian....never met him though!!

Your vehicle is cheaper (than the GA one) in the end. CCA Rebate, plane, miles pretty much makes the 1k a wash.
If you would have also financed the GA vehicle the finance savings @0.9% represent several thousand dollars, minimum.

GET OVER IT!
It is still a sweet car. Performance wise there really isn't any meaningfull difference between an E90 & E92.
I can't believe an E90 looks much different (from an E92) if you are sitting in either of the front seats.
If you had paid MSRP for it would it be any less of a vehicle?

Given what you where looking for I don't think August would have produced your target vehicle either.
There is a simlar thread where the OP is looking for a Montego wagon.
Apparently Plat.Bronze mattered and since its you wife's car (your words) it won out over your desire for the car to be a coupe.

The current deals are all about moving existing 08 out before they truely become last years model. You saved money, wife got her color.
Coulda, woulda, shoulda doesn't really apply for 08s at this point in time, unless you what a Silver/Auto/Sedan there are lots of those available.
You coulda ordered/ED an 09, but unless it was ED you woulda paid a lot more for it.

Theirein lies the problem with your deal and the reason why you posted this.

Don't torture yourself. You have yourself a wonderful car, and you should really take some time and enjoy it.

It's odd, I had a dream last night that I got rid of the 535i, and traded it for a 3er for some reason. I was regretful in my dream for doing so, and I really wanted the e60 back. I awoke, and it took a few seconds to shake the fact it was just a dream. I must really be strange, huh? What other brand of car does this to a man? None, I tell ya, none... :bigpimp:

Now go drive your car for a bit, and be thankful you didn't end up with a Camry or Accord, then I'd say maybe you should torture yourself!:D

Thanks. I wanted the E92. Wife didn't care just said if I could find the color and options I could get the car. 0.9 made it harder and harder to find the color so I got the E90. keep in mind this was the only E90 in the color combination in the DFW area. and there were NO E92.

I wanted to wait but was not sure 0.9 was going to be available in Aug.

I guess I will take it out today for a drive.

I doubt the extra month would have made any difference in the final result of your search.

Did you do the right deal? Apparently not since you're not happy with it. But personally I can't understand being that upset over having an E90 instead of an E92. But then again, I prefer the sedan.

What's done is done.. Enjoy the car! Don't regret and live with the 'what if'. It will only make you miserable.

you deal the best you can with the hand you are dealt with.

a few like me also thought the 0.9 and auto credit was only for july

i gambled and waited another month. during that time, it kept running in my mind... if they bring back the 0.9, they might not have the auto credit... or i thought they will bring the auto credit, but back up to 3.9. will they carry it over for another month? who knows. i do know if i wanted to wait another month, the car i wanted could be gone and that i would have to settle with either the color i want with more or less options, or a completely different color.

what would make me happy is if for next month they took away the 0.9... then it would make me feel that much better about getting a good deal.

also in my case, i was too very specific in color choice. black sapphire/blk was the only way i'd get a 335. i wanted space grey, but it was only on coupes. sparkling graphite looked great in pictures, but in person under direct sunlight there was too much of a purple tint to it. and i ruled out the classic silver/blk because i've had that for the last 3 cars.

and as others have said, don't beat yourself up about it. the deal is done, and you can't go back on it.

What's done is done and only $100.00 over real invoice is not bad.:) I took it to the store. Not bad. But since the wife got to set the pick this time. I get MY SL55 or CLK55 as a second car. So not so bad.

no just need to see when to change the oil.... 1000 miles 5000 miles 7500 miles or with for the free. LOL. I'm thinking 1000 to 3000 miles.
