Question about non-OEM clears

I heard that non-OEM clears front and rears will not fit perfectly and need abit of modification to fit. I was wondering if that was true. If there has to be some mods would it be easy for a newbie to make and install?

we've all read horror stories about the fronts (aftermarkets) falling off during highway driving. the rears are screwed in so only fit would be an issue. although i remember someone got aftermarket rears and they fit fine. for a few bucks (maybe 20 or so) you can get OEMs so why not?
