OK... this might sound a little dumb but..... What do the rear seat headrest look like in you 1 series? Are they different between the 128 and 135 US models? The US brochure and owners manual show them with a adjustment button for tilt on the side which allows you to fold them down (horizontal) when no one is in the back seats (presumably for better rear visibility) and vertical or upright when you have a passenger in the back seat. Hope that wasn't confusing. Anyway my front seats and rear seat headrest look the similar and are only adjustable up and down no tilt movement.

I asked the salesman about this when I purchased the car and they have someone looking into it but have not heard anything back from BMW NA and it has been more than a month now.

Please post pics of yours if you have them. I'm curious abut what you guys have.

Thanks, Erik

First one is a pic of mine the second is a BMW pic where you midgt be able to see what i'm talking about.

In Europe the 1 gets the folding rear headrests. The brochure uses pictures of the Euro model. The US cars get the ones you have.

I replaced the rear headrests in my 135 with the folding ones, though they were not cheap. I can not see the folding ones in the rear view mirror; the stock ones took up the bottom half of the mirror.

I noticed those in the brochure as well and wished that they came with it but we have the big clunky ones. AndyM where did you find the others and how much did it set you back?
