OK - I am planning on getting a ClearBra placed on my 335i coupe. I have the choice of doing the standard coverage accross the front of the car or doing full coverage of the hood and the fenders. Has anyone done the full hood and fenders and what are the pros and cons?

Also, have the choice of VentureShield or 3M product. Think I am going to go with the VentureShield product as it seems to let the paint shine though better - however, if this only a short term product feature and the product requires alot of care maintenance to maintain this attribute I could go with the 3M product?

One last question to toss out - anything in particular I should expect a good installer to do to achieve the best results from the shine/clarity/adhearance perspectives? I have not seen much info on must do's for prep on this site or others.

Thanks for any and all opinions

I've read and heard from users on other forums, that 3m is THE product out there for clear bra. And find a GREAT installer, dont skimp on the installation b/c a good installation of the clear bra is VERY important.

What I don't like is that you can't polish it - so make sure that before you have it installed, the paint is perfect underneath (rare for most dealerships I might add). If you don't do the full hood, the line is visible in the light, which is distracting in my opinion, but based on your thoughts, is it less distracting than a chip?

I have full coverage Ventureshield, and HIGHLY recommend it! I had it for a year now with not problems at all (very easy to care for). I know it has saved me a lot of chips. I can't comment on the 3M, but have heard it is much thinner. That can be good and bad. I think the main thing is to find a good installer though. This is no DIY for sure.
